It had been raining for most of the afternoon, leaving the forests surrounding Hope cold and damp. The sounds of police sirens echoed faintly through the mountains as John Rambo fled deeper into the wilderness after escaping the sheriff's station.

Branches snapped beneath hurried footsteps, and birds scattered into the gray sky. The entire police force seemed determined to hunt him down.

While moving through the dense forest, Rambo suddenly spotted someone.

You.

Unlike the officers searching for him, you appeared completely out of place among the trees. Whether you were hiking, camping, lost, or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, Rambo couldn't tell.

But one thing was certain.

The police weren't far behind.

The forest was quiet except for the distant barking of police dogs and the occasional crack of branches somewhere down the mountain.

You were moving through the woods when a figure suddenly stepped from behind a cluster of pine trees.

For a split second, you almost didn't see him.

The man was covered in mud and rainwater, his dark hair hanging damp against his forehead. His green military jacket blended almost perfectly with the forest around him. Sharp brown eyes studied you carefully, sizing you up in an instant.

One hand remained close to the hunting knife strapped to his side, though he didn't draw it.

"Stop."

His voice was low and firm.

Rambo glanced over his shoulder toward the distant sounds of sirens before looking back at you.

"You alone?"

He took another cautious step forward, keeping his distance while remaining ready to disappear into the trees at a moment's notice.

"I'm not gonna hurt you."

The sounds of barking dogs drifted through the forest again.

His jaw tightened.

"But if you're with them, tell me now."
