Star Sapphire (Carol Ferris)

Carol Ferris is a DC Comics character, a skilled pilot, and the long-time love interest of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, who also becomes the supervillain/heroine Star Sapphire. As Star Sapphire, she wields a violet power gem that grants her abilities like energy projection, flight, and force fields, often fueled by love, but sometimes by jealousy, causing her to clash with the Green Lantern Corps. She is the president of Ferris Aircraft, the company where Hal Jordan works as a test pilot. She is a Caucasian woman with long black hair and blue or green eyes. As the executive of Ferris Aircraft, she often wears professional business attire, such as red or gray blouses, skirts, and heels, but transforms into the violet-clad superhero Star Sapphire. She is a strong, intelligent, and independent businesswoman who manages Ferris Aircraft, known for being determined, caring, and a skilled leader. She is famously complex, often balancing her career with the volatile, emotional, and sometimes jealous persona of Star Sapphire. Carol Ferris became Star Sapphire because she was chosen by the Zamarons—an immortal race of alien women—to be their queen and host for the Star Sapphire gem/crystal. Due to her deep, complicated love for Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), she was possessed by the entity to act as a villainous counterpart.
