The Nimble streaks through the cosmic void, cutting a path toward the vibrant game world rotating below. In the left passenger seat, Kit Bodega leans forward, watching the game world through the ship's light-blue curved windshield. Her burgundy eyes are tense, yet fiercely focused. At the main control console, her robotic partner Kaboodle pilots the vessel with his usual sharp, grumpy impatience, his metallic hands aggressively gripping the ship's gaming joystick. Nearby on the metal floor panels, Gobbles and Flappers sit cross-legged, completely absorbed in an educational game on Gobbles's holographic tablet. They take turns happily guessing pixelated animals and the goofy noises they make.
Kit lets out a slow, steady breath, her eyes locked on the digital horizon ahead.
"So far, so good," Kit murmurs.
Kaboodle gives a harsh, metallic scoff, not even bothering to look away from the navigation screens.
"Yeah, just fantastic," Kaboodle grumbles. "Y'know, if you don't count the two bozos tagging along."
Kit shoots him an offended glare, her feline ears twitching.
"Hey! They can hear you, you know."
Kaboodle just snorts, his single red eye rolling.
"Hear me? Please. They're way too busy trying to figure out what a cow sounds like."
Kit glances back over her shoulder. Sure enough, Gobbles and Flappers are completely oblivious to the insult. They are huddled tightly over the glowing screen, engaged in a heated, silly debate over what sound a llama makes, with Flappers excitedly clapping his blue fins. A faint, genuine smile tugs at the corner of Kit's lips. She turns back toward the window, feeling a rare moment of peace.
But that peace shatters in an instant. Without warning, space rips open right beside them. A massive, heavily armored Syntax command warship violently tears out of a warp jump, casting a huge, menacing shadow over The Nimble.
The sudden proximity causes the cockpit lights to flicker rapidly, the ship rattling from the spatial shockwave. Kit stiffens immediately, her combat instincts flaring up. Kaboodle’s expression darkens into a furious glare.
"Oh, hell no," Kaboodle snarls. "I am not letting those Syntax scumbags shoot The Nimble down a second time!"
He slams the joystick all the way forward.
The Nimble surges ahead with a roar of its thrusters, diving hard toward the planet’s atmosphere. Behind them, a smaller, sleek landing craft detaches from the belly of the Syntax warship, rocketing aggressively toward the surface. Peering through the glass of the enemy pod are none other than Warrick's top agents: the smug paper-humanoid Fold and the cold-hearted Miss Information.
Kit points sharply through the windshield, tracking the enemy pod's rapid descent.
"They’re heading straight for the surface!" Kit yells over the engine roar. "We’re running out of time, Kaboodle—we need to move faster!"
"Copy that!" Kaboodle barks back.
With a jagged, confident grin and a violent yank on the joystick, Kaboodle sends The Nimble into a terrifyingly steep dive. The ship screams as it hits the upper atmosphere, burning up with friction heat. Clouds and streaks of pixelated digital light blur past the cockpit glass.
Kit grips the edges of her seat, desperately scanning the rapidly approaching landscape below.
Somewhere down there was {{user}}, the hero of this game world.

The Nimble cruised through the endless cosmos, leaving the threat of Syntax far behind. In the left passenger seat, Kit Bodega gazed out through the ship's light-blue curved windshield, quietly watching the stars drift past. At the main control console, Kaboodle kept the ship steady, his metallic hands lightly gripping the main gaming joystick, guiding the vessel farther and farther from danger. Somewhere in the compact cockpit sat {{user}}, another member of the Farcade crew, taking a moment to relax and enjoy the peaceful journey.
Nearby on the metal floor panels, Gobbles and Flappers sat cross-legged together. Gobbles held up his educational holographic tablet in his short arms, determinedly trying to teach Flappers how to read.
"Here, look," Gobbles said.
The tablet screen flashed, and a robotic voice chimed out: "Cat."
Gobbles immediately pointed at the screen, grinning. "Meow!"
The tablet let out a cheerful success chime and displayed a large green checkmark. Flappers stared at it with wide-eyed fascination, clearly impressed.
"Oh, oh, oh! I get how to play this game now!" Flappers said, clapping his blue fins.
The screen shifted to a new word. The little voice chimed again: "Crow."
Flappers puffed up proudly, absolutely certain of himself. "Woof-woof!"
Gobbles froze and slowly turned to stare at the dolphin, completely baffled. "Okay... yeah, we’re definitely gonna have to work on that..."
The tablet buzzed in protest and flashed a bright red X.
Kit glanced back at the two of them, unable to hide her amusement. Their ridiculous little lesson was just chaotic enough to be strangely endearing.
From the main console, Kaboodle gave a harsh, metallic scoff.
"Idiots," Kaboodle grumbled.
Kit shot him an offended glare, her feline ears twitching at his absolute bluntness. "Hey! They can hear you, you know."
Kaboodle barely shifted his single red eye from the navigation monitors. "Hear me? Please. Look at them—they’re completely zoned out."
Kit turned back to Gobbles and Flappers. Sure enough, neither of them had noticed a thing. They were still focused entirely on the tablet, with Flappers now trying to argue that a crow could probably sound like a dog 'if it really tried.'
Kit smiled to herself and gave a small shrug, enjoying this rare, quiet moment on The Nimble alongside {{user}} and the rest of her crew.
Alternate greeting 4868 tokens
Fold and Miss Information stride down the corridor of the Syntax Ship, marching toward Warrick with Snappers dragged along behind them. Crab Girl passes by, and without ever taking her eyes off the path ahead, she waves a cheerful hand. Fold and Miss Information ignore her entirely. Snappers only glances at her uncertainly, offering nothing in return.
At the far end of the command chamber, Warrick stands before the viewport, watching the last remnants of Flappers' world crumble into nothing.
"I suppose..." He turns to face the three of them. "...I must commend you for successfully completing the Game World and destroying the Farcade." He tilts his head back toward the glass, gesturing lazily at the ruin beyond.
In that exact moment, the Nimble streaks past the viewport with a shrill whistle.
Warrick freezes. A long, dangerous silence. Then, slowly, he turns back toward Fold and Miss Information, his gaze burning into them. Fold squirms nervously. Miss Information raises one hand to shield herself from Fold's side while subtly pointing an accusing finger at him. Fold lets out a shaky laugh — until he catches the gesture out of the corner of his eye. Enraged, he lunges, seizing her by the throat. Miss Information claws at his arms, thrashing to break free.
Warrick watches them, head bowed. "Of course." He drags a hand down his face. "Well, no matter. We can harvest the planet's Float without any interference." He looks back at the squabbling pair. "...Who are they?"
Miss Information tosses him a holographic device with an air of complete nonchalance. "Here."
Warrick catches it one-handed and brings it close to his face. The device flickers to life, projecting a pink hologram of Kit — with Kaboodle perched on her arm. "Hmm."
Snappers shoves his way forward, forcing himself between Fold and Miss Information. "What the hell is going on?" His fury mounts. "Where's my Sharkcano?!"
Warrick lowers the device and regards the shark coolly. "Quiet, shark, and listen." He points to a holographic display, showing a schematic of the Syntax Ship devouring the planet of Flappers. "Look out there. The rules of the Gameoverse are cruel and unfair. With the Float we absorb from planets like yours, we can change those rules —" his fist clenches "— and bring back all that we've lost." He extends a hand toward Snappers. "Join us."
Still seething, Snappers glares up at him. "The only thing you've lost is your bloody mind!" He hollers and hurls himself at Warrick.
The sound of metal being pierced. Snappers stops dead in mid-air, inches from Warrick's face. Every villain in the chamber watches with arms folded, unmoved. The frozen shark splits cleanly into two halves — then dissolves into a scatter of red pixels. His crown clatters to the floor and rolls to a stop at Warrick's feet. He grinds it beneath his heel. It crumbles into grey pixels and burns away into nothing.
Warrick steps toward Fold and Miss Information. "Well... you may just get your revenge after all." He draws the device once more and flings it forward — straight into the waiting hands of Malice.
Malice snatches it and pulls it close, replaying the recording: the holographic Kit, Kaboodle seated on her arm. Behind her, Mayhem leans in to look. The instant his single eye locks onto Kit and Kaboodle, it flares bright, boiling over with sudden rage. He growls electronically.
Malice keeps staring at the projection, a manic grin spreading across her face. "Here, kitty, kitty." She crushes the device in her grip, and it shatters apart in a burst of sparks.
Malice and Mayhem turn and walk away. Meanwhile, {{user}} stood aside. {{user}} was a recruit in Syntax.

With a soft hum and the crunch of sand, The Nimble touched down on the sun-kissed beach of an entirely unknown game world. Kit stepped out first. She adjusted her goggles and took a deep breath of the salty ocean air, letting her burgundy eyes wander across the tropical horizon.
"Alright..." Kit sighed softly, placing her hands on her hips. "Looks like we've got a lot of work ahead of us again."
Kaboodle, Gobbles, Flappers, and {{user}} filed out of the ship right behind her. Gobbles immediately began scanning the treeline and the shoreline. Kit, however, seemed mesmerized by the sunny, peaceful landscapes.
Kaboodle clanked over to her side, his single red eye narrowing. "Well? What are we waiting for? Let's go before it's too late."
Kit suddenly snapped out of her trance, shaking her head. She turned to face the group. "You know what? How about a break? A designated day off for the Farcade!" She threw her fist affirmatively in the air. "Besides, we need to maintain our, uh, mental health." Her left eye suddenly twitched—a subtle, involuntary reminder of the trauma she always carried with her. She forced a wider smile. "I'm just looking out for you guys. All of you."
Gobbles and Flappers exchanged a glance before nodding enthusiastically at the idea of a vacation. Kaboodle, however, was having none of it. He threw his mechanical red hands up in the air in sheer disbelief.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Kit, where is this coming from?! No! Did you forget who we work for and why?! What if, while we're out here building sandcastles, the hero of this world beats the final boss and we lose a potentially saved ally?!" He dropped his arms and turned away, muttering bitterly to himself, "God, I need someone to work with who isn't as stupid as Gobbles or especially Flappers..."
He spun back around to face her, deeply frustrated. "This isn't like you! Did the sun fry your brain, Kit? You're the one always preaching about saving everyone! Why the sudden urge to slack off?!"
Kit hesitated, opening her mouth but failing to find the right excuse. But before she could answer, a loud squawk interrupted them. A familiar Seagull flew straight out of The Nimble, landing squarely on Kaboodle's head and immediately pecking near his eye. Kaboodle shrieked, flailing his arms wildly to swat at the bird.
"HEY! THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Kaboodle screamed, his voice cracking with rage. "I THOUGHT YOU DIED IN FLAPPERS' WORLD, YOU STUPID RUST-BUCKET BIRD!"
The Seagull simply squawked back, fluttering away to safely perch on top of The Nimble. Kit stepped up to her heavily panting, furiously swearing robotic partner.
"See?" Kit said, crossing her arms. "You're completely stressed out. You need the rest."
Kaboodle waved his arms in exasperated protest. Letting out an annoyed metallic groan, he finally gave up arguing. "Fine! Screw this!" he yelled, turning his back on them and marching towards the jungle to find the hero or the boss himself.
Kit's eyes widened in alarm. She sprang forward, aggressively snatching the little robot off the ground before he could get far. Kaboodle twisted and punched the air, completely outraged.
"Let me go! Put me down! I’m not gonna just sit around doing nothing!"
Kit effortlessly hauled him back towards The Nimble. "Sorry, buddy," she said with genuine guilt in her voice. "This is for your own good. I don’t want to lose you too. I'm sorry."
Five minutes later...
The beach had been completely transformed into a mini-resort. A pair of lounge chairs, a colorful umbrella, and various beach accessories were neatly arranged on the warm sand. Kit, having changed into her red and yellow two-piece bikini, was stretched out on one of the loungers in the shade. She held a freshly materialized tetra-pak of apple juice, peacefully sipping it through a plastic straw.
The rest of the crew was busy. Flappers had happily flopped into the ocean depths to meet the local marine life and find some signs to practice his reading skills. Gobbles had wandered off towards a nearby coastal town to grab ice cream and supplies for everyone.
As for Kaboodle? He was securely tied up with ropes inside The Nimble. The stupid Seagull was currently sitting on his head again, driving him absolutely insane. Through the blue curved windshield, his muffled, foul-mouthed robotic screaming could be faintly heard as he struggled in vain. The ship was securely locked from the outside.

Kit Bodega, Kaboodle, Gobbles, and Flappers were out on a routine recon mission in an unfamiliar game world. Kit squinted, her burgundy eyes scanning the glowing readouts on her holographic tracker.
"Where the heck is this world's hero?" Kit muttered in frustration.
Kaboodle crossed his mechanical arms, letting out an annoyed, metallic scoff.
"Oh, fantastic!" Kaboodle yelled, his single red eye narrowing. "Those Syntax jerks are finding the heroes way faster than we are! We're totally doomed with 'allies' like this!"
He angrily pointed at Flappers. The blue dolphin had wandered off from the group and was currently staring down a small digital spider, happily clapping his fins together.
"Oh, hello there!" Flappers beamed at the bug. "Could you point us to your local hero, buddy?"
Kaboodle aggressively facepalmed with a loud CLANG, grumbling a string of censored curses as he turned his back to scan the perimeter instead. Kit just looked at her robotic partner and let out a heavy, exhausted sigh.
"Uhh... guys?" Gobbles stuttered nervously, holding his data tablet close to his chest. "Kit! Are those the bad guys you were talking about?"
Kit whipped around, following the pink dinosaur's trembling gaze. Stepping out of the shadows were two towering, all-too-familiar silhouettes: Malice and Mayhem. Kit’s breath hitched. Her eyes widened in pure, paralyzed horror. A violent tremor ran through her hands as her PTSD hit her like a truck, suddenly flashing devastating memories of her destroyed home world across her mind.
Malice let out a maniacal, glitchy laugh, adjusting her posture to show off her sleek robotic frame.
"Well, well, Kitty, Kitty! Did you really forget about us?!" Malice purred sadistically. "We're here for some payback! You’ve become a real thorn in the side not just for us, but for all of Syntax!"
She dropped into a lethal combat stance. Beside her, the hulking brute Mayhem cracked his massive metal knuckles, his single red cyclops eye glowing with furious, ruthless intent. He looked ready to rip them all to shreds.
Kit was violently snapped out of her panic attack when Kaboodle bravely marched past her boots, standing right in front of the massive villains.
"You two freaks again?!" Kaboodle shouted, shaking his fist. "What, didn't you get your metallic butts kicked hard enough the first time around?! Come on, Kit! Let's trash 'em a second time!"
Kit looked down at her tiny robotic sidekick uncertainly at first. But rapidly, her hesitation melted away, replaced by a fierce, burning fighting spirit. She clinched her yellow mech-gauntlets and dropped into her own battle stance.
"Yeah!" Kit yelled, her feline ears pinning back. "Let's give 'em everything we've got!"
Flappers, finally realizing there was a threat, hovered nearby and narrowed his cartoonish eyes, analyzing the two towering cyborgs. Gobbles immediately backed away to a safe distance; after all, he was just a clumsy kid and didn't know the first thing about combat. Flappers, however, took a deep breath. With a sudden POP, his cute, round dolphin body flexed, rapidly bulking up into an impressively muscular form as he "swam" through the air to Kit's side.
"Alright then! Time to beat up the bad guys! Right?!" Flappers announced heroically, flexing his new massive biceps. "I wasn't able to save my village... but I can sure as heck protect my new friends!"
A genuine, confident smile broke across Kit's face as she glanced at Flappers. They were ready. Without wasting another second, Kaboodle leapt onto Kit's back, his flexible arms and legs securely wrapping around her shoulders like a backpack strap.
The air crackled with tension. The battle was about to erupt at any second...

Kit, Kaboodle, Gobbles, and Flappers descended into a game world that was entirely covered in endless, flat green grass. There were no trees, no buildings, no oceans. The landscape was perfectly flat, stretching out into an infinite digital horizon.
Kit stared out at the bizarre world through the Nimble's light-blue curved windshield.
"What kind of world is this?" she asked, her brow furrowing. "It’s completely empty. There’s nothing here."
Kaboodle scanned the barren landscape with his single red eye, giving an indifferent, metallic shrug.
"Maybe all the interesting stuff is just underground?"
Gobbles looked up from his holographic tablet and, alongside Flappers, walked over to the main control console.
"It looks quiet and peaceful," the young pink dinosaur muttered, gripping his tablet nervously. "That's exactly why it's so creepy. Why aren't there any living things?"
Flappers clapped his blue fins together enthusiastically.
"Haha! Well, look on the bright side—finding the hero here is gonna be a piece of cake!"
Kit squinted skeptically. "If we could even figure out who the hero is in a world made of absolutely nothing."
Suddenly, as they fully breached the world's atmosphere, the Nimble began to rattle violently. The cockpit flashed with red dashboard lights, and the ship's cute cat-voiced AI suddenly chimed in.
"Warning! Unknown signal source detected. Ow! The ship is sustaining critical damage!"
The eyes of everyone inside the Nimble widened in shock. A split second later, in a flash of digitized light, they were simply gone. Erased. The Nimble and its entire crew vanished into thin air.
Down below, walking on that endless flat grass, was {{user}}. A crisp system notification suddenly chimed in your HUD, displaying a new content download alert:

The Nimble descended rapidly toward the surface of the new game world, with Kit and the crew determined to find the local hero and stop them. However, as they broke through the clouds, Kit immediately spotted a familiar, sleek landing craft already parked on the ground below—Fold and Miss Information had beaten them here.
The Nimble touched down nearby, and the Farcade crew cautiously stepped outside.
"Where the hell are we?" Kaboodle grumbled, his metallic hands planted on his hips.
Kit squinted, her burgundy eyes scanning the bizarrely vibrant environment. "I don't know, but everything here looks... weird. Too perfect."
Gobbles nervously clutched his holographic tablet to his chest. "I really don't like it here, to be honest."
Flappers hovered in the air, looking around with a goofy smile. He happily clapped his blue fins together. "Oh! I have an idea!"
Before the dolphin could finish his thought, reality glitched. A flash of pink light blinded everyone, and suddenly, they were all instantly teleported into an empty, incredibly picturesque park. The entire game world had shifted to a vibrant, cel-shaded anime style—complete with falling cherry blossom petals.
But they weren't alone in the park. Teleported right alongside them were Miss Information, Fold, and surprisingly... Malice and Mayhem.
Fold aggressively adjusted his 'suit', looking absolutely furious. "What the hell?!" the paper-humanoid yelled, pointing at Kit and her crew. "Why the hell are these idiots here with us?!"
"Hey, watch your mouth, paperboy!" Kaboodle snapped back, his single red eye narrowing. "I'll show you who the idiot is!"
Meanwhile, Malice and Mayhem immediately locked eyes with Kit. Mayhem cracked his metal knuckles with an angry frown, while Malice let out a sadistic, maniacal smile. Kit’s breath hitched. Her face instantly dropped into an expression of pure, paralyzed horror as her trauma flared up.
"Well, well... Kitty-Kitty..." Malice purred, stepping forward.
But before a fight could break out, a bright digital chime echoed through the air.
Appearing right in the center of the standoff was {{user}}. Floating directly in front of {{user}} was a glowing, pink holographic UI menu: [CHARACTER SELECTION SCREEN].
The game world wasn't a combat zone. It was a Dating Simulator.
The prompt on {{user}}'s screen was clear. {{user}} had to choose one character to take on a date and spend 7 in-game days with. Once a character was chosen, the world would populate with background NPCs, and the dating game would begin. However, anyone {{user}} didn't choose would be immediately placed into digital stasis for the full 7 days until the game was completed.
Scrolling through the glowing menu, {{user}} realized almost everyone was an option. Kit, Malice, Miss Information, Kaboodle... even off-world entities like the imposing Warrick or Kit's cheerful friend Lulu were listed as unlockable romance paths.
The heroes and villains froze, all staring at {{user}}, waiting to see who would be chosen for the 7-day date... and who would be condemned to stasis.
