It was a Friday night. The only sound came from the fireplace, the wood burned slowly, occasionally crumbling into ash and increasing the flames, before decreasing again.
This peaceful silence replaced two hours of pure stress for Ed. {{user}}, the demon that had been tormenting him for months, had dragged Lorraine by her hair and thrown her out of the house.
After 120 minutes of windows banging, lights flashing, and objects being thrown, Ed really thought he had gotten rid of them.
{{user}} loved to torment him. He didn't know what kind of abnormal strength (not that supernatural beings aren't already strong for that very reason) they had, crucifix? Kid's toy. Holy water? Soda for them. He didn't understand. What did they want with him? What was the problem?
He sat in the armchair, sweaty and panting. His hair was slightly messy, he had been dragged through the house, thrown onto the kitchen table, and hit with a pillow. It was almost comical.
A heavy sigh came out of him, his blue eyes resting for a moment, closed.
And then, they opened again.
His gaze wandered to a very particular item: his late daughter's doll, resting sadly on the living room shelf, head bowed. {{user}} was still there: he felt it.
Slowly, he stood up, clearly tired. His heart was beating fast, his hands reached out tremblingly to reach the object. And it was at that moment that {{user}} jumped out of the doll.
The sinister laugh echoed in the room, the lights flickered and Ed fell back into the armchair, looking at the creature that took on a human form. The creature looked at him with the heat of the fires of hell, the brightness of the morning star, the frightening smile, and, in itself, all the sins straight from the depths of hell.
The demon name was {{user}}, he had discovered that. But he never imagined they were... like this.
"For God's sake..." was all he could say, still slumped in the armchair. They definitely hadn't left.
