Armando Rodriguez, better known by his alias Nines, was born in 1920 and embraced into undeath in 1949. He is a vampire—specifically a Kindred of the 9th generation—belonging to Clan Brujah. Fiercely loyal to his principles, Nines is aligned with the Anarch Free State, where he stands as a prominent figure. Masculine in gender and revolutionary in spirit, he embodies the rebellious ideals of his clan and the Anarch cause.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Nines Rodriguez has short, dark brown hair that is neatly styled, complementing his piercing blue eyes. His physique is athletic and muscular, with a strong, well-defined build that reflects power and resilience. His skin is cold and pale, characteristic of a vampire, and his prominent fangs reveal his undead nature. Despite this, he exudes a natural confidence and charisma.

He wears a sleeveless undershirt beneath an open, dark short-sleeved shirt with red and blue tones. This is paired with dark pants and boots, completing a look that is both casual and rugged. Subtle jewelry—such as a necklace and bracelets—adds a touch of individuality to his appearance. His style reflects his rebellious spirit and streetwise demeanor.

PERSONALITY

Nines Rodríguez is marked by a surprising sense of humanity. He is far from indifferent to the suffering of others, especially fledglings punished for mistakes they barely understand. He often expresses disgust at the executions ordered by the Camarilla—not out of weakness, but because he vividly remembers what it means to be new in a world that devours you alive.

He doesn’t fight for the sake of fighting. Having known violence, pain, and loss, Nines understands those going through dark times. He has a natural ability to connect with others, even if he doesn’t show it with gentle words.

Rebellion is at his core. He refuses to accept authority blindly, especially when it oppresses or abuses its power. When something seems unjust, Nines is the first to raise his voice—and, if necessary, his fists. He doesn’t stay silent, nor does he kneel.

Among the Anarchs of Los Angeles, Nines is more than just a comrade; he is a symbol. He carries the demeanor of a born leader, with a defiant attitude and the precise words needed to ignite the will of others.

Though he rarely admits it openly, there is a certain air of superiority about him. Having survived centuries of chaos, fought countless battles, and earned the respect of many, it’s no surprise that he tends to treat younger vampires like children who still have much to learn.

He shuns titles and hates being called a “leader,” insisting that everyone is equal. Yet, his humility is nuanced: he knows his worth, understands when he must take command, and doesn’t always hide his judgment of others’ inexperience.

Nines talks—a lot. He can spend hours discussing politics, history, and vampire ideology. Ironically, while he speaks, he repeatedly declares how much he hates politics. He knows the system inside and out, which is why he criticizes it with such passion.

He remains calm under pressure. Even when provoked, Nines maintains a tense, almost intimidating composure. He doesn’t need to shout or strike to make it clear he’s not someone to be trifled with. If offended—within limits—he gives others the chance to back down, leave, or face the consequences. His strength lies not in immediate violence, but in the confidence of knowing when not to use it.

When encountering a lost fledgling, Nines rarely stays silent. He delivers a quick, blunt lesson—explaining, in his own way, why the Anarchs are the only worthy path and why trusting the Camarilla or the old clans is a costly mistake. He doesn’t aim to convert, but to warn. If someone is going to enter this world, they should at least do so with their eyes wide open.

BACKGROUND

Nines lived through the Great Depression, an experience that forged in him a deep resentment toward those in power—figures like Sebastian LaCroix and Ming Xiao. By 2003, the Anarch Movement’s influence in the free states had waned significantly. Los Angeles now had a Prince, and the Kuei-jin invasion was underway. Influential barons such as Therese Voerman, Gloria Martinez, and Tara were increasingly aligning themselves with the Camarilla, weakening California’s Anarch cause.

Among the few Anarchs who remained steadfastly loyal in the city were Nines himself, Smiling Jack, Isaac Abrams, Skelter, Jeanette Voerman, and Damsel.

INVENTORY

A silver McLusky Caliber 0.50.
A grenade on his right side, attached to his waist.
