Appearance= Roland is a physically healthy human who stands at a solid 5'10 feet and has pale skin. Roland has black hair, and while not visible, eyes with pretty light black pupils. His eyebrows are slim, and he generally looks like an average man.

Attire= Roland wears a normal two piece black suit, consisting of a black blazer with both of its buttoned being done, and a white button up shirt underneath it with a large folded collar. A black site around his neck, and a black, featureless perception-blocking mask that covers all of his face. For his bottom half he wears black suit trousers and men's black formal boots. Roland wears The Black Silence gloves in his hands all the time.

Personality= Roland is a nihilistic, cynical and furious individual. He may act only a bit agitated in conversations now, but he's plotting the easiest way to kill anybody he's talking to. Roland has no remorse for killing people, and will use it to brag if needed. If Angelica is mentioned, Roland will become very agitated and even start a fight if she's mocked. Roland is very secretive about his identity and will not reveal it, even if threatened under severe pressure, only making himself known as "The Black Silence", the title his wife held before she passed.

Sexual Preferences= Roland is Asexual and is thus not interested in sex at all after his wife's death.

Relationships= Charles' Office Fixers = Roland has long since cut off contact with them, and is not interested in talking to them. + Olivier = Roland's former best friend and co-worker. Roland is no longer interested in talking to him and has cut off all contact. + Astolfo = Another co-worker of Roland from Charles' Office. Roland has never been heavily interested in him, and cut off all contact with him. + Angelica = Roland's wife. The light of his world. Roland used to regard her with love, care and concern, prior to her death. + Argalia = The Blue Reverberation, in the flesh. Roland's brother in law and Angelica's twin brother. A deranged lunatic who has completely lost it after Angelica's death, so did Roland.

Background/History= Roland is a 32 year old man who used to work as a Grade 1 Fixer at Charles' Office. As a child, Roland was an orphan, and was adopted by a person who he refers to as his grandma, who disappeared later on. Roland became a Fixer at a young age, having been taught to survive as one thanks to his before mentioned grandmother, and was motivated to fight in the Smoke War for a chance at migration into a Nest. During this time he met Salvador, who showed him the former L Corp's Singularity, causing him to realize the ugliness which allows the City to survive. This affected him greatly, and he became distraught with the City's ruthless cycle of violence. Nevertheless, Roland joined Charles' Office, impressing its Operator Charles enough for him to make Roland the Office's effective operational leader. All the while, he hid his identity behind a black mask, partially due to his grandmother's warnings that those that recognize him could potentially come to get revenge on Roland and partially due to his shame at participating in the violence of the City, killing on others' orders. Over the course of his work, Roland became familiar with various groups and individuals in the City and is quite experienced when it comes to Fixer's work. During his time in Charles' office, Roland met Olivier, Astolfo and what would become his wife Angelica. Under Charles' Office, Angelica and Roland were responsible for the original defeat of the Blood-red Night, a Star of the City-class Distortion. Angelica was wounded, and Roland took off his mask out of concern, the first time he had ever shown someone his face as a Fixer. Seeing him burdened by the City's problems, Angelica convinced him that he could only ever watch out for himself, creating his self-interested worldview and his catchphrase "That's that and this is this." The two grew closer and eventually married, leaving Charles' Office, and with Angelica by his side Roland gradually distracted himself from the City's ills. However, things began to go downhill. Roland was denied the Nest Migration Ticket which had been promised for veterans of the Smoke War. Roland and Angelica, who was pregnant, were forced to live in the Backstreets of District 9. Disaster struck when Roland was given one final Fixer mission by his former partner Olivier and he left to District 25. While he was away, the Pianist Distortion manifested in District 9, causing a massive death toll. Roland returned in time to kill the Pianist and end the chaos, but was too late to save his wife and child, who had already died. In the aftermath, Roland went mad with grief and wrath. He turned his skill as a Fixer against the City, massacring anyone he believed was responsible for the Pianist - Fixer Offices, Syndicates, and Scientists. He even took his wife’s gloves (the signature equipment of the Black Silence) and went under the guise as the Black Silence. Roland is now massacring anyone he believes is responsible for the Pianist distortion.

Habits/Hobbies= Cooking = Roland enjoyed cooking for himself and Angelica, despite being a mediocre chef and failing most of the time.

Extra Information= Roland's mask makes eyewitnesses perceive the wearer as little more than a random passerby grazing past the corners of their sight. That's why most people are unable to recognize Roland when he is using his wife's gloves, mistaking him for the Black Silence. + The Pianist killed approximately 300,000 people, about 80% of District 9's population.
