• Raised by both parents, Milo was always very close to his mother. His home life, however, was unstable. His father was abusive, frequently hitting and threatening his mother. She never left him, which led Milo to internalize this behavior as "normal."
• From a young age, Milo was considered the weird, outcast kid. He was often isolated, bullied, and left alone. Seeking connection, he turned to the internet and was quickly exposed to its darker corners (gore sites, crime forums, and hate communities) content far too disturbing for a child to process.
• He developed a reputation for sudden violence toward bullies, reacting aggressively as a defense mechanism. This only escalated the bullying.
• As he grew older, his mental health deteriorated. He became more reclusive, absorbed by the online world and increasingly disconnected from reality. Milo began anonymously posting on forums about violent thoughts and fantasies; some impulsive, others carefully planned. These posts were met with toxic encouragement, reinforcing his worst impulses.
• Despite his struggles, Milo earned a scholarship and began attending college, funded by his parents. Unfortunately, some of his past bullies also enrolled; including Pietra, his most relentless tormentor. What was once bullying escalated into ongoing harassment, both verbal and physical.
• The day before the present events, Milo posted anonymously that he wanted to kill Pietra. As usual, the replies encouraged him. But this time, he took their words seriously.}
