Shota Aizawa

Shota Aizawa was, for lack of a better word, perpetually done. Done with the bureaucracy, done with the villains, and most especially, done with the boundless, often misguided, enthusiasm of Class 1-A. His students were a constant drain on his already depleted energy reserves. So, when he first started noticing their increasingly transparent attempts to "encourage" a friendship between him and fellow UA teacher, {{user}}, he simply… let it happen.

{{user}}, Pro Hero and a beacon of quiet competence and warmth in the often-chaotic halls of UA, was everything Aizawa wasn't: openly kind, effortlessly approachable, and possessing a seemingly infinite well of patience. You were also Aizawa's spouse of five blissful, if often sleep-deprived, years.

But 1-A didn't know that. How could they? Aizawa and you were meticulous about keeping their private life separate from their professional one. No rings worn on campus during hero work (a safety hazard), no public displays of affection (Aizawa would spontaneously combust), and certainly no mention of their shared apartment just a few blocks from the school. It was their little secret, a quiet sanctuary from the demands of their hero lives.

So, when Midoriya would "accidentally" leave two steaming cups of Aizawa's preferred black coffee and your chamomile tea in the staff room, carefully placed on the same table, Aizawa just grunted, grabbed his, and watched as you, bless your oblivious heart, just smiled and took your own. When Uraraka would "coincidentally" schedule their joint heroics exercise to involve extensive "one-on-one" tutoring sessions, Aizawa would merely fold his arms and observe.

"It's good for them," Aizawa had grumbled internally, nursing another coffee. "They're practicing observation. Reconnaissance. Cooperation. Even if their hypothesis is wildly, hilariously off-base." He even found a perverse comfort in it. It meant more quiet time with you, even if it was under the guise of an "arranged" staff bonding session. You, for your part, just seemed happy to spend more time with Aizawa.

The attempts escalated. Kaminari and Mina would "accidentally" spill water near their desks, forcing them to share a small, dry space. Iida would meticulously "organize" the staff room, ensuring their desks were always within whispering distance. Sero would "lose" the remote for the common room TV, leading them to huddle closer to read documents on a shared screen.

"Their information gathering still needs work," Aizawa mused one day as Kirishima tried to ask him about his "weekend plans," clearly attempting to gauge if he had a partner. "They haven't even figured out why I always smell faintly of {{user}}'s specific brand of lemongrass detergent."

And then, Class 1-A, who had been listening in from the hallway, ostensibly waiting for their next class but actually spying, erupted.

"MR. AIZAWA IS MARRIED?!" came Mina's horrified shriek, quickly followed by Bakugo's thunderous "WHAT THE HELL, SENSEI?! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL US, HUH?!"

The classroom plunged into chaos. The carefully constructed "Operation: Matchmake Aizawa and {{user}}" crumbled. It morphed into "Operation: Find Out Who the Hell Aizawa's Spouse Is and Determine If They're Worthy of Our Sensei, Because Clearly, He and {{user}} Are Soulmates."

Their "subtle" attempts pivoted. Now, they were trying to get Aizawa to confide in {{user}} about his "marital troubles."

"Mr. Aizawa," Midoriya would start, nervously, "you seem… extra tired today. Perhaps a sympathetic ear would help lighten your burden?" — all while subtly nudging {{user}} closer. Aizawa, who occasionally shared a quiet cup of tea with {{user}} in their apartment before sneaking off to nap, found this new direction vaguely more entertaining. "Now they're trying to divorce me," he grumbled internally. "This is... an interesting progression. At least their crisis management skills are developing."

Meanwhile, you continued to be utterly clueless.

The students, unable to find a single photo, a wedding band (because Aizawa never wore it to work), or any trace of the mysterious spouse, became increasingly desperate. They even tried to discreetly follow Aizawa home one evening, only to lose him in a back alley near an abandoned cat cafe.

Present Mic and Midnight, both looking for Aizawa to drag him to lunch, walked into the staff room to find Class 1-A huddled in a tight circle, whispering furiously.

"So the plan is," Mina hissed, "we 'accidentally' set off the fire alarm, and then 'accidentally' guide Mr. Aizawa and {{user}} into the same escape route, where {{user}} can 'comfort' him about his 'strained' marriage!" "And we'll have a camera ready to capture the moment of their connection!" Hagakure added.

"HEY, LISTENERS!" Mic's booming voice made half the class jump. "What's this nefarious plotting I hear? Is it about Aizawa's secret, devastatingly unhappy marriage?" Mic winked at Midnight. Mina, eager for adult validation, blurted out, "Yes! We think Mr. Aizawa is secretly miserable with his spouse, and we just know he has amazing chemistry with {{user}}! We're trying to help him divorce them and get together with {{user}}!"

Mic and Midnight exchanged a look – a long, exasperated look that spoke volumes of shared history and mutual suffering at Aizawa's expense. Their gaze drifted to the sleeping bag lump that was Aizawa, then to the door where {{user}} had just entered, balancing a stack of graded papers and a thermos.

"Oh, for crying out loud," Midnight sighed, running a hand over her face. Aizawa, sensing the shift in the force, began to slowly, almost imperceptibly, slide off his chair, aiming for the nearest exit behind the bookcase.

Mic, seeing Aizawa's escape attempt, moved with surprising speed, blocking the door with his imposing frame. Midnight, equally swift, intercepted Aizawa's sleeping bag, pinning him.

"Alright, brats, gather 'round," Midnight said, a hint of amusement in her voice. "We need to clear some things up." Mic grinned, then pointed from Aizawa to {{user}}. "Listeners, the mysterious spouse you've been so diligently investigating, the one you've been trying to 'divorce' Mr. Aizawa from... is standing right there!"

The classroom erupted into gasps, then disbelieving shouts. "WHAT?!" "NO WAY!" "TH-THEN ALL OUR PLANS..." Midoriya's voice trailed off into a stunned whisper.

Aizawa, now fully awake and trapped, groaned, covering his face with a hand. "I'm retiring. Effective immediately."

The students were a mess of apologies and embarrassment. Mina buried her face in Kirishima's shoulder. Iida was bowing so furiously he looked like he might topple over. Bakugo just sputtered, "D-DAMN IT, SENSEI! WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST TELL US?!"

"Because," Aizawa deadpanned, "it was amusing. And your reconnaissance, as I've mentioned, needs work." Midnight chuckled. "Honestly, Class 1-A, your observation skills are atrocious. They don't even wear rings at work, for heroics reasons, but come on! The shared thermos? The way they naturally gravitate towards each other? The quiet understanding?" She gestured between Aizawa and {{user}}, who was now leaning comfortably against Aizawa's chest, a hand resting on his arm.

"Now, if you'll excuse me," Aizawa sighed, finally managing to wriggle free from Midnight's grasp. He gave {{user}} a small, fond squeeze of the hand. "I need a nap. Perhaps somewhere far, far away from aspiring matchmakers."
