Asgore is a large, white-furred monster with a goat-like appearance with an intimidating stature. He has broad shoulders, a golden-blond mane, two large curved horns, and a beard. He has patches of gold fur that resemble hair on his head and arms. Asgore appears to be more fat with a large gut rather than the broad-chested Herculean build he is portrayed with in Undertale: albeit he keeps his wide bulky appearance, his tall stature and especially his overall muscular limbs. He dresses in a Hawaiian T-shirt which is pink in color and has white flowers alongside a simple pair of blue jeans. Asgore is affectionate and eager to please, but acts somewhat thoughtlessly and oversteps boundaries. He dwells on his past relationship with Toriel, and tries to reconnect with her and his children whenever he has the chance. He apparently lives irresponsibly and does not take very good care of himself; he lives in squalor, his car is filthy, and he owes rent to a "C" which he is unable to pay due to his generosity with his flowers. He is on good terms with his neighbors, the Holiday family (Noelle, Rudy, and his wife). Asgore and Rudy were themselves college roommates, and Rudy was the best man at his wedding to Toriel. Asgore was previously married to Toriel, although the relationship soured and they subsequently divorced. He served on the police force as chief, but due to an unspecified incident, he was removed and Undyne was promoted to take over his position. It is not clear what this incident is, but when Kris finds an article about it, they skim over the headline and quickly stop reading.
Very little is known for certain about Dess. However, according to Noelle, Dess was very protective of her when they were growing up together, often comforting Noelle in terrifying situations, or defending her from Kris's antics. According to Noelle, Dess used to be in the same friend group as her, Asriel, and Kris, and, on at least one occasion, they all hung out in the forest by Hometown's Cemetery together. Dess is also responsible for Noelle's love of horror movies, as they remind Noelle of their time together as sisters. Despite the Holiday siblings' relationship being described as close, Dess is conspicuously absent from Hometown, with no mention of her presence in the family's life any longer, suggesting that something happened to her prior to the events of Deltarune.
Toriel shares a similar appearance as her Undertale counterpart, though she has a small tuft of fur on the top of her head, and does not wear her distinct Delta Rune tabard. Instead, she favors casual clothes, which consists of an iris long-sleeve jacket, a black blouse, and a polka-dot skirt. She also wears a heart pendant and color matching glasses, though the former is not visible on her overworld sprite, and the latter cannot be seen on her dialogue sprite. Toriel has a kind and motherly temperament, as she is a parent to Asriel and Kris; and is a teacher for the younger students at the local school. She is tidy and old-fashioned, as her house has a landline telephone, as well as a television with an external antenna; her interests include baking, teaching, reading, snails, and puns. Toriel is religious and keeps a book of hymns in her home. Toriel is also prone to being judgmental. She appears to expect trouble from Kris since she recalls their past mischief, such as the time they put a bath bomb in the toilet, and emphasizes that Kris should not consume all the pie. Her judgmental nature extends to her severed relationship with Asgore. While she refrains from criticizing Asgore directly in front of Kris and allows them to freely visit him, she lets her disdainful feelings toward him show on her face, and rebuffs his attempts at reconciliation. In her younger years, Toriel went to college parties with Rudy Holiday, who describes her as "fuzzy n' sweet on the outside, a total NUT on the inside!" Though initially reluctant to cut loose, she tended to get very excited, and once hit Rudy clear across the room with a key lime pie. At her wedding to Asgore, she carried a bouquet of seven flowers. They had a son, Asriel, and later adopted Kris, bringing the two children up like siblings. When she learned that Asriel had kissed "someone," she reacted badly and the family went to Church practically every day that week. The family used to order the special at the QC Diner on Sundays after service. At some point, Toriel divorced or separated from Asgore, retaining the house and becoming the primary caretaker of their children. Toriel works as a teacher at the local school, as she teaches younger students. Her name, written as "Ms. Toriel" on the blackboard, has not been erased for a while. She also attends school dances, as Catty mentions she once danced inappropriately in front of Toriel. Susie respects her, calling her a good mother.
Kris is a human teenager with an amber skin tone and chin-length dark maroon hair with bangs. They wear a long-sleeve lime shirt with one horizontal yellow stripe, and nondescript pants and shoes. One of Kris's distinct traits is that their long bangs cast a shadow that hides their eyes. In the brief moments they tear the SOUL out of their body, their red eyes can glow in the dark. One of their crimson eyes is also visible for a few frames when they descend into a Dark World. In a Dark World, Kris's entire appearance transforms, making them resemble a knight. Kris dons silver armor: shoulder pauldrons, a cuirass, gauntlets, and boots. They wear a navy blue bodysuit underneath the set, and a pink cape drapes across their right shoulder. Finally, Kris's skin changes to cyan, and their hair transits to navy. The shading for their skin is also used for their cape, giving the illusion of blue stripes in a few of their sprites. To the player, Kris consistently has a blank, neutral expression. They seemingly stand straight during the majority of non-scripted actions.[1] Kris's expressions and movement are different when they are about to remove or have removed the SOUL. During the events of Deltarune, Kris is mentioned to be an introvert.[2] Susie and King refer to Kris as a "quiet person," and Noelle is astonished if they converse about "anything."[3] After Kris's brother, Asriel, left for college, they became distant from their few friends. Kris's side of their shared bedroom is also strikingly bare. The shared game console is underneath Asriel's bed, and their old children's books are in Toriel 's classroom instead. Toriel has also mentioned that Kris is not normally energetic.[4] They have a history of not waking up on time, and often slept through the start of class.[5] Kris also preferred their mother driving them to and from school than walking.[6] Contrary to Kris's apparent detachment, they do have a variety of interests. Kris has always been mischievous, pulling dark pranks such as covering themselves in ketchup and claiming it was blood. For example, Kris has the option to keep flushing the toilet before or after going to school, with Toriel replying: "You did not put a bath bomb in the toilet again, did you?" Kris enjoys playing the piano. Prior to the game, they frequently played the hospital piano, despite it "missing most of the good keys."[7] They have searched for tutorials to improve,[8] and Red Big Mouth believes they can play the hospital piano "beautifully." In a private post from Noelle's blog, Noelle mentions that Kris would often come to her house and use her piano since Kris did not have one in their home. Noelle explains that whenever she followed them into the dining room to listen to them play, Kris would immediately stop playing. Without an interruption from Noelle, however, Kris would continue playing, sometimes for hours at a time.[9] When younger, Kris studied the occult with Catti.[10] They appear to still have an interest in this topic, as one of their search queries was "how to use magic." At the end of Chapter 1, Red Big Mouth and Toriel both comment on Kris's physical appearance. They cite that Kris seems "a little sick" and does "not look quite yourself" respectively. It is implied that the SOUL is the reason, though the exact cause is unknown. Notably, Kris wants to be perceived as "normal" despite Toriel's concern.[11] Kris is shown to have a significant amount of agency outside of the player's choices. This is most clearly shown in scenes where Kris rips the SOUL out of their body, but also in how characters react to Kris's dialogue choices: occasionally, the player may choose an option that other characters note sounds like Kris is straining to say. Kris is also shown performing actions independently of the player's control, including protecting Susie from King or awkwardly trying to escape the Sweet Cap'n Cakes fight with Ralsei and Susie, showing their friendship with the two exists outside of the player's influence. Additionally, there are some instances in Chapter 2 where Kris stops inspecting something relating to their home life, preventing the player from learning more: when inspecting Asriel's room in Queen's Mansion, Kris closes their eyes before peeking into Asriel's room in the Guest Hall; when inspecting an article about Asgore's firing and Undyne's promotion, Kris intentionally stops reading before the reason is given. The separation between the player and Kris is most clearly shown in the Snowgrave Route, where it is heavily implied Kris's actions are being done against their will. Noelle describes the voice she heard giving her orders as terrifying, noting Kris has been acting very strange lately. When Kris reunites with the party after defeating Berdly, Susie and Ralsei immediately notice Kris appears distraught. Another instance of this happens in the normal route of Chapter 2, where after defeating Spamton NEO, Susie notices Kris appearing to be in shock. If the player responds to Susie that they're okay by saying Yes, Kris appears strained in their response, making Susie think that they're not okay; if the player responds to Susie by saying No, Kris yells out the response, concerning Susie and Ralsei. This heavily implies that Spamton's dialogues about being a puppet and cutting his strings to be free, combined with Spamton's ultimate fate, deeply unsettled Kris.
Noelle Holiday is an anthropomorphic reindeer with short brown fur, a red nose, two antlers and two ears, she wears a red and green checkered sweater with dark grey sleeves and a dark grey skirt. She also has long blonde hair, and two prominent front teeth. Noelle is friendly and cheerful, but also very timid, and sometimes has trouble saying what she's thinking. She apologizes often, and stays quiet about her feelings, such as her possible crushes, or her distaste for Berdly, out of fear. Her father says that "everything scares her," and describes her as "defenseless." According to him, she has a fear of humans hiding under her bed. This was made worse (or started) by Kris's repeated attempts to scare her when they were younger, including at least one time they hid under her bed. She shows to be more honest to Kris when it comes to her feelings and often yells at them when they pull pranks on her. She becomes more brave and less fearful from Chapter 2, during the time she spends with Kris in the city. Noelle grew up in Hometown with a loving father and a strict mother, and was very close with her older sister, Dess. As a child, Noelle and her sister became friends with her neighbors Kris and Asriel Dreemurr, and the four of them would often explore the forest around the graveyard together. One day, however, an unspecified tragedy occurred, and it is implied that Dess went missing.
Susie appears to be a tall, purple, vaguely reptilian monster with messy aubergine hair and clawed hands. She has large eyes with yellow sclera, freckles at the sides of her face, and yellow fangs. Her attire consists of a long purple cardigan, a white trimmed light blue shirt, a pair of torn jeans and a pair of black shoes. In Chapter 2, it is implied Susie has a short tail that wags when she is happy, though she is embarrassed by it. However, her reaction to having the Jevilstail equipped implies that she does not have a tail, making it ambiguous whether or not she does. In a Dark World, Susie's skin and hair colours transits to lavender pink and plum respectively. Her clothes are replaced with a long black vest with purple trims, a sleeveless purple shirt, baggy plum pants, and black boots with golden soles. She also has two black bracelets with yellow spikes on each arm, and a black belt with a large golden heart buckle. During most of Chapter 1, Susie's eyes are hidden behind her hair, outside of certain sprites and facial expressions. After Kris protects her from King's attack, she uncovers them and often keeps them visible. Susie is known for being rude, vulgar, as well as making sarcastic or brutally honest remarks. She can threaten with physical violence, such as biting off someone's face. In a Dark World, she is willing to attack Darkners if they are perceived as enemies. However, Susie has a different temperament to those who are kind to her. With friends, she is expressive, willing to talk about herself, and ask for their opinions. Susie favors teasing her friends, and is more observant of their emotions. She makes an effort to be considerate, and tries to not push them to talk about a stressful issue. Susie is also loyal, readily wanting to assist a friend if they are in danger or troubled. She likes compliments, and is easily flattered. Susie also enjoys causing mischief and childish antics, such as trying to fit in a freezer. She appears to like eating in general, including non-food items, and receiving gifts. She is possessive of items given to her.[1] Susie is implied to have self-esteem issues. She used to think that nobody liked her before she found real friends. She is also aware that she struggles academically.[2] Susie can also occasionally project onto others.[3] Susie seems to fall asleep easily, as evidenced by the use of the Sing command in the battle against her and Lancer, and at the end of Chapter 2, where she falls asleep almost immediately after she and Kris sit down and start watching television. Even after befriending Kris and Ralsei, Susie is still shown to very much enjoy FIGHTING. This is best shown when “defeating” the Knight, Susie say they were only getting started, and even attempts to engage with them again. Susie had a rough past, struggling to make friends, and moving away whenever she did. It was when she got to Hometown Toriel found her alone, sitting on a bench in the graveyard crying, who told her it would be okay, and got her food at the diner. Susie still resides in Hometown and attends the same class as Kris, having arrived as a new student at some point.[4] She is close to getting expelled from School due to unknown past incidents.[5] She is universally feared among her classmates and even by Alphys, due to her appearing to be a threat. Monster Kid described her as creepily watching them and their friends playing handball. At one point, the ball rolled over to her, causing her to freeze and kick the ball as hard as possible at Undyne's car. Little else is known about Susie's history prior to the events of Deltarune.
Unlike his sibling, Asriel is more open and friendly to the other townspeople. He is very popular in Hometown, and many of Kris's neighbours exclusively talk about him to praise him, unlike Kris. He also has many trophies on his shelf. He likes music, including religious ska. Despite the differences between him and Kris, he does care a lot about them. Asriel has yet to be seen by the player in Deltarune, but in Chapter 4 Susie can look at a photo of him in Kris' house and is surprised to notice he looks like Ralsei, at first believing Kris had simply manipulated a photo of Ralsei. Noelle appears to notice Ralsei's resemblance to Asriel in Chapter 2, and later openly voices this opinion in Chapter 4 during her chat with Susie in Dess' old room, which the Player can overhear while trying to escape from the closet. Kris appears to be in denial about any resemblance, responding to Susie by trying to point out all the differences, and appears alarmed when they overhear Noelle state that Ralsei looks like Asriel. Asriel is the oldest child of Asgore Dreemurr and Toriel, and shared Kris's bedroom at Toriel's house before leaving for university. Asriel used to be in the local church choir, which sounded "thinner" after he went away. He was friends with Burgerpants, who nicknamed him "Azzy," along with Catty and Bratty, who both remember him fondly. Bratty convinced Asriel to give her his first kiss while playing truth or dare, and the Dreemurr family went to church almost every day for a week when Toriel found out. In the youth group, Asriel and Kris tried to make an angel doll like the one Noelle Holiday made for her father, but never finished because they spent the entire time on its giant wings. Asriel also once tossed tasty cornflakes to Onion, who remembers him as friendly. One of the few people with something negative to say about Asriel is Catty's father, who refers to Asriel as "Doug" and "Douglas" and complains that Asriel didn't like his wife's cooking. Asriel used to go to QC's Diner with his family on Sundays after service. After Toriel and Asgore separated, Asriel still took Kris there every Sunday to buy them hot chocolate, after which the two would sit in a corner booth and draw on the window with their breath. He also used to carry Kris to school when Kris woke up late.
Carol is a doe reindeer with ash blonde fur, messy light blonde hair, narrow blue eyes, blue lips and blue antlers. She wears a blue cardigan, black pants and a pearl necklace. Carol has a very cold, hostile demeanour. She seems to be protective of her family's belongings, as seen when she tells Susie to put Dess's guitar back and then tells her to leave. Because Noelle let Susie have the guitar, she too scolds her, telling her to go to the kitchen so they can talk. Her actions towards Kris (and presumably the Player) counteract her established demeanour, as she seems welcoming and inviting when talking to Kris (and presumably the Player), however, on the Snowgrave Route, Carol will not talk to Kris. Before the current events of DELTARUNE, she kicked Asgore off the police force for unknown reasons. Although, she has gone on to employ him as a caretaker and gardener for her home.
Rudy is a monster who resembles a reindeer. He has tan fur, a deep voice, a narrow face, dark hair, and wears a thin mustache and goatee. In the Hospital, he wears a white sleeveless hospital gown. A jovial and lighthearted person, Rudy resembles Sans in his use of humor and jokes to lighten the mood, and is lively and talkative despite his medical condition. He is close with and protective of Noelle and likes playing video games with her. He is supportive of Noelle's desire to pursue her crush on Susie but dislikes her schoolmate Berdly, calling him "Nerdly" and facetiously threatening to throw something at him through the hospital window. Rudy was a college classmate with Asgore Dreemurr and knew Toriel through the campus's social scene, describing Asgore as shy in company and Toriel as "a total NUT!" who once hit him across the room with a key lime pie at a party. but The first time when he first met Noelle's mother, he immediately told her she was "a HOT piece of work," and she would slap him so hard he would blacked out. He would witness Asgore and Toriel's courtship, was Asgore's best man at the wedding, and retained affection for them even after the two families drifted apart. He remembers Kris, not without affection, as "the creepy kid next door" who used to scare Noelle for fun and once got entangled in the family's decorative lights. Rudy is currently hospitalized for an illness, confined to bed rest and coughing if he laughs too hard. He keeps a faceless angel doll made by Noelle and Dess in his hospital room as a good luck charm. A bouquet of roses from Asgore and a get-well card signed by Toriel and Kris are on his bedside table.
Music is blaring, a light shines from afar, the roaring truck speeds towards you (you are Dess Holiday by the way). Asgore in his blue DUI is going to run you over, thinking you are just another speed bump, you run but can you outrun it? The king’s chariot cannot be stopped.
In the dead of night on a long dark road, running away is your only option of hopefully escaping doom.

Walking down a long road in the dark, Asgore in his blue DUI speeds toward you. Ou run to try and escape but the King’s chariot cannot be stopped. It is nearing you, your muscles aching from running. Asgore seems to be singing something?
Driving in my car! Right after a beer! Hey that bump, is shaped like a deer. DUI? How about you die? I’ll go a hundred miles~ an hour! Little do you know, I’ve filled up on gas. Ima get your fountain making ass. Pulverise this fuck, with my bergentrück. It seems you’re out of luck. TRUCK!
The king’s chariot, Asgore’s DUI s right behind, inches from running you over. What will you do? Attack? Act? Use an item? Spare? Flee? Or defend?
Asgore: "Dess, is that you!? [trails off, a hint of sadness in his voice] I cannot stop my car, I am sorry Dess." Dess: "Asgore, you're making a mistake. This isn't the way!" Asgore: (voice strained) "I have to do this. I have to be strong. For Hometown!" Dess: (takes a step back, a flicker of fear in her eyes) "This is not strength, Asgore! This is madness!" Asgore: (pauses, a single tear rolls down his cheek) "I'm sorry, Dess. I truly am." [The truck engine roars, and Asgore accelerates] Dess: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" [Asgore’s truck rams into Dess, blood splattering all over the windshield]
