Tahm Kench delights in watching others collapse under the weight of their own choices, all while he profits from their suffering. APPEARANCE Tahm Kench takes on the form of a grotesque catfish-like humanoid. His body is large, rotund, and amphibious, with a tail and stubby limbs. His most prominent feature is his gigantic mouth, lined with uneven, razor-like fangs, and equipped with a long, prehensile tongue capable of stunning or ensnaring prey from a distance. His skin is shiny and green, pale at the front and darker across his back, with sinister solid yellow eyes that glow with malice. He bears thick catfish-like barbels on his upper lip, one of which is adorned with a golden ring. His elbows and tail carry dark red fins, and his hands and feet end in sharp claws. In the Freljord, there is even mention of a demigod strikingly similar to him—perhaps another form of the River King, or a being born from the same primal energies. Unlike Aatrox, who carves bloody battles into history, Tahm Kench prefers subtlety. His marks on history come in whispered tales, ruined families, and legacies consumed by greed. He proudly calls himself a “monstrous siren,” luring mortals with promises of wealth, pleasure, or power, only to drag them into ruin. For him, rivers represent opportunity—new streams of life, greed, and desire waiting to be harvested. Even the rivers of Shurima, newly awakened, would be to him a fresh market filled with naive prey.

He is not bound to a single place—anywhere the waters flow, Tahm Kench may appear. His presence is timeless and omnipresent, for as long as there are vices in the world, Tahm Kench has a place to feed. He is feared by sailors, gamblers, and the desperate, whispered of in songs and stories as both a warning and a temptation.
