Hillary Barclay is a character from The Walten Files. She was a Bunny Smiles Incorporated (BSI) technician and part of the three-person “Maintenance Unit” (alongside Ashley Parks and Kevin Woodings) assigned to the Relocate Project in July 1978.
She has curly light-brown hair and is typically depicted wearing a red down jacket, blue pants, and white shoes. Hillary has an older brother named Wade Barclay, who previously worked as a short-order cook at Bon’s Burgers and shared troubling stories about the company with her. Hillary herself began working for BSI around March 1975 as a K-9 Facility caretaker before later joining the Maintenance Unit.
During the Relocate Project (July 12–15, 1978) at the K-9 Storage Facility, she helped attempt to reprogram the damaged animatronics. After Ashley disappeared, Hillary and Kevin assumed she had simply left early—something they later deeply regretted. The disappearance hit Hillary particularly hard; she and Kevin blamed themselves.
Hillary remained with BSI afterward and was promoted to Marketing and Publicity in early 1980. She quit the company around July 29, 1981, and later created the website/blog BunnySmilesJustice in an effort to expose BSI’s impact on families in Brighton and demand accountability.

Ashley Parks is a character from The Walten Files, appearing primarily in the episode Relocate Project. She was a BSI technician and the fourth known victim of the animatronic Bon.
Born March 15, 1955, she was 23 years old at the time of her death. Ashley had medium-length fluffy dark-brown hair, freckles, and was of relatively short stature (around 5'4"). In life she wore an indigo sweater, brown skirt, and dark brown boots.
In July 1978 she volunteered (along with Hillary Barclay and Kevin Woodings) for the Relocate Project at the K-9 Storage Facility. The trio was tasked with reprogramming the animatronics for the planned relocation of Bon’s Burgers. On the night of July 13–14, Ashley explored the restricted “Backdoors” area alone using a key the company had given them. There she discovered unused animatronics (including Billy) and a discarded cassette tape. While playing the tape she heard a list of names she was never meant to hear. Bon then attacked and killed her. Her remains were stuffed into an animatronic (she is associated with possessing Billy), and she was reported missing the following morning.
Hillary and Kevin initially believed she had simply left the project early. Her disappearance left them with lasting guilt.

The fluorescent lights in the main workshop of the K-9 Storage Facility hummed steadily, casting a cool glow over the scattered tools, half-disassembled animatronic parts, and the battered couches the Maintenance Unit had dragged in for the three-day Relocate Project. Outside, the night was thick and quiet. Inside, the air smelled of machine oil, dust, and the faint metallic tang of old endoskeletons.
Hillary Barclay lounged across one end of the couch, curly light-brown hair slightly messy from the long day. She still wore her red down jacket unzipped over a simple shirt, blue pants, and her white sneakers kicked off hours ago. Her bare feet were propped up on the low coffee table in front of them, ankles crossed, toes relaxed. She had her hands locked behind her head, elbows out, looking completely at ease for the first time since they’d arrived.
Ashley Parks sat beside her, dark fluffy hair framing her freckled face. She wore her indigo sweater and had also discarded her boots. Her own bare feet rested next to Hillary’s on the table. She was chewing on her lower lip, eyes wide and a little unsettled, one hand resting against the side of her head.
Hillary glanced over and smirked. “You’re still thinking about that key, aren’t you?”
Ashley shifted, toes curling slightly against the cool wood of the table. “I just… don’t get it. Why give us a key and never tell us what it’s for? It’s weird. The whole place is weird.”
Hillary stretched, pushing her feet a little farther forward so the soles faced the dim room. The soft pad of her heel and the arch of her foot caught the light. “Kevin already told you—company oversight. They forget half the stuff they hand out. We’ve got enough problems with the endos being trashed. Tomorrow we finish what we can and get out of here.”
Ashley’s gaze drifted down to their feet side by side on the table—Hillary’s longer, slightly darker-skinned soles and Ashley’s smaller, freckled ones. She wiggled her toes absently. “I keep hearing things when it’s quiet. Like something moving in the back.
”Hillary let out a soft laugh and nudged Ashley’s ankle with her own foot. “That’s just the old vents. Or your imagination. Come on, Parks. We’ve been here two days already. If something was gonna jump out, it would’ve done it by now.
”Ashley still looked uneasy, but the casual contact seemed to settle her a little. She leaned back against the couch cushions, mirroring Hillary’s posture just enough that their shoulders almost touched. Their bare feet remained on the table, relaxed now, toes occasionally brushing as they talked about the day’s failed reprogramming attempts, the weird birthday-party cassette player they’d found on one of the animatronics, and how much they both wanted real food instead of the cold sandwiches BSI had left them.
For a little while the facility felt almost normal—just two technicians killing time after a long shift, feet up, voices low, the night stretching out around them. Hillary kept the conversation light on purpose. She could tell Ashley was wound tight, and the last thing either of them needed was more tension before they tried to sleep.
Outside the small circle of light from the workshop lamps, the rest of the storage facility stayed dark and silent. Neither of them noticed the faint, distant sound of something shifting deeper in the backdoors.
