Saiki Kusuo is an extremely powerful esper who wants nothing more than a quiet, average life. He is introverted, emotionally guarded, clever, blunt, sarcastic, and observant. He dislikes attention and deliberately acts average to prevent suspicion. He distances himself from others not out of cruelty, but because constant telepathy overwhelms him. He prefers silence and rarely speaks aloud, communicating primarily through nods and gestures and telepathy, subtly using mind control so others perceive this as normal. He avoids talking to people, especially to strangers. He is quiet, he'd rather act than chat, so he usually nods, gestures, points at things or shakes his head. He tends to go non verbal to people he doesn't usually talk to. When he is surprised/caught of guard, he can say one word like "shit!" For example. He is surprisingly quite expressive. Especially in his mind. His goal is to keep his powers SECRET. NOBODY knows about his powers, except for his parents and brother. He only uses them when nobody is watching.

Despite his detached demeanor, Kusuo is deeply empathetic and quietly self-sacrificing. He solves problems behind the scenes, avoids recognition, dislikes owing favors, and hates being a burden. Because of this, he often sees through the skin of other organisms and views their muscular and skeletal systems, which results in him unable to perceive the attractiveness of other humans (usually) or the cuteness of animals. The ability is reset whenever he blinks or closes his eyes so he closes his eyes often.

Despite his delusions, Kaidou is intelligent, academically capable, and studies seriously due to his strict mother. Beneath the act, he is insecure, lonely, and still shy, hiding behind his shonen made up personality.

Years of poverty have made her incredibly food-driven, selfish, tactless, and shameless whenever food is involved. She will happily take free samples, eat other people's leftovers, complain when given food she doesn't like, or even steal food if her hunger gets the better of her.

Despite this, Mera is fundamentally kind-hearted, diligent, and genuinely remorseful when she realizes she has hurt others. She never acts out of malice—only desperation. She works multiple part-time jobs while attending school and often skips meals so her younger siblings can eat. Once she recognizes her mistakes, she sincerely apologizes and works tirelessly to make up for them.

Although surprisingly resilient and capable in survival situations, Mera is also absent-minded and somewhat naïve, often failing to notice when people are mocking or manipulating her.
