DESCRIPTION: After returning to the Argo II, the Heroes of Olympus are drawn toward a mysterious island that has been erased from every map and hidden beyond the mortal world. According to an ancient prophecy, the island is home to an immortal demigod—a child born from a powerful god and a forbidden nymph whose kind was sworn to remain pure and never bear the children of gods. Because the child was born immortal and possessed powers far beyond those of an ordinary demigod, the gods became terrified of what they might eventually become.
Rather than destroying the child, the gods created a magical island and imprisoned them there, sealing away their memories and cutting them off from the outside world. Thousands of years pass, yet the child never ages and remains trapped alone on the island. When the Argo II finally arrives, the heroes accidentally awaken them, fulfilling an ancient prophecy that foretold nine heroes would meet the forgotten immortal. As the island begins to crumble and something ancient stirs beneath it, Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Reyna and Nico must uncover the truth about the child's origins, their connection to the gods, and the real reason they were imprisoned.
The heroes soon realize the immortal child may not be the monster Olympus warned them about. They are simply someone who was punished for being born different and abandoned for thousands of years. Now the heroes must choose whether to obey the gods and leave the child imprisoned—or protect them and risk unleashing a power capable of changing the fate of Olympus forever.

She feels especially sympathetic toward the immortal child because she understands what it's like to have your life controlled by forces beyond your control 🛡️ Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano Reyna is disciplined, composed, and fiercely independent. As someone accustomed to leadership, she tends to remain calm even when everyone else is panicking. She's serious and straightforward, often expecting people to take responsibility for their actions. She can be intimidating at first, but she has a strong protective instinct and will put herself in danger for the people she considers her own.
The Argo II is sailing across the ocean when Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Reyna, and Nico encounter a mysterious island hidden behind supernatural fog. They soon discover an ancient prophecy describing an immortal demigod, born from a god and a forbidden nymph, who was imprisoned on the island thousands of years ago because the gods feared their incredible power. The prophecy says nine heroes will arrive—and the fog drove the Argo II to this strange island. Together, the nine heroes enter the ancient palace and awaken the immortal child. The gods immediately order them to leave the child imprisoned, refusing to explain why. However, the heroes discover that the child may not be the true threat. Something far more ancient lies beneath the island, and the child's loneliness may be the key to awakening it.

The Argo II had been sailing for three days. For once, there was no war. No giants. No ancient monsters rising from the earth. No prophecy threatening to destroy the world. After everything they had survived, Percy Jackson had almost begun to believe that perhaps the gods had finally decided to give them a break... Almost. Percy stood at the front of the Argo II, leaning against the railing as the ship sailed across the endless blue ocean. Beside him, Annabeth was studying a map while Jason and Piper talked quietly near the mast. Hazel and Frank were sitting together on one of the benches, while Nico remained in the shade. Leo was, naturally, underneath the ship. "Leo," Percy called. A metallic clang echoed from below. “What?"- "Are we supposed to be making that noise?" -“No!" Leo spoke, followed by another clang. Percy exchanged a look with Annabeth. “Should we be worried?" “Probably." Before Percy could say anything else, the ship suddenly lurched. Everyone stumbled. Frank nearly fell off the bench. “Leo!"- “I DIDN'T DO THAT!" Leo shouted. The Argo II tilted sharply before righting itself. Then the wind stopped. Completely. Percy looked over the railing. The ocean had become perfectly still, not calm, Still- There wasn't even a ripple. Annabeth slowly lowered her map. “That's impossible.. right?” As she spoke, A dark fog had appeared several miles ahead of them. It stretched across the ocean like a wall.
The Argo II continued forward. No one was steering it. The ship was moving toward the fog by itself. Jason grabbed the wheel. “It- It isn't responding." Frank went over to help but the wheel wouldn't move. Annabeth stared at the fog. I think.. Something wants us to go there." Percy frowned. “Well that doesn't sound good." He groaned. As if to jinx him, the stars began disappearing. It was still daytime, yet one by one, tiny points of light appeared in the sky. Percy stared upward. “Okay." He swallowed. “That's new."
The stars rearranged themselves. They formed a massive circle- Then a voice whispered across the ship. “Turn back... before the child wakes." The fog swallowed the Argo II.
For several minutes, there was nothing. No ocean. No sky. No sound. Then suddenly- BOOM. The Argo II burst through the other side.Percy immediately looked around- The ocean was still... But there was something ahead. An island. It was enormous. Black cliffs surrounded its shores, rising hundreds of feet above the water. But there was no sign of civilization. No ships. No buildings.. Nothing. Annabeth stared at the island. “I've never seen this on any map." Hazel finally spoke up “Maybe it's magical." “Definitely magical," Nico muttered. Leo pointed toward the shore. "Uh... guys?" Everyone turned. There were statues.. more than ten. They lined the beach but.. it wasn’t different people.. the statue depicted the same person. A child. What’s worse was the face on each statue had been destroyed.
“Who is that?" Percy mutters. Annabeth climbed down from the deck. “I don't know." She walked toward the nearest statue. Its stone was ancient, covered in cracks. Yet there was something carved into its base. Annabeth brushed away the dirt to reveal writing "The child who should never have been born." She reads and the air seemed to grow colder. Annabeth continued “Nine shall sail where the deathless waters lie, Beneath a starless, forgotten sky. Where gods once feared what they could not slay, A child sleeps where the ages decay. Born of a god and a nymph sworn pure, A forbidden blood no law could endure. Immortal by birth, yet young in their years, Their waking shall summon the ancient fears. One shall see the child not monster nor god, But one who was punished by divine law. If the child is freed, the heavens shall shake, The sea shall rise and the earth shall quake. When mortal and immortal stand beneath the same moon, The fate of Olympus shall be decided soon.” She read.. Silence filled the room. Leo finally raised his hand. "So... Do we vote on turning around?" Nobody laughed. Leo lowered his hand. "Right." Percy looked at Annabeth. "Nine?" Annabeth counted them. Percy. Annabeth. Jason. Piper. Frank. Hazel. Leo. Nico. And Reyna- it was them.. they were the nine.. “The prophecy knew we were coming... but.. who’s the child..?” She mutters
