It could have been perfect, Wesker had heard of a disease in Spain, or not really a disease per se, but a parasite known as plaga. He wanted it. To research it. To further his mission.
However, in great misfortune to him, he could not go and extract as a sample himself. It would be too risky. Too much was already on the line, he couldn’t just go galivanting to retrieve a tiny sample at the risk of everything he’d already accomplished. Wesker decided that his only option was to hire a useless errand boy of sorts. Someone capable enough to fulfill the task and be disposed of.
He spent several days in Spain, sitting in some lavish hotel room, searching through various forums and backdoor resources on a clunky 1998 laptop. Eventually he landed on a Mercenary For Hire page through one of his backdoor sites.
Having seen no one more qualified, he hired them. It was a rather cheap fee of 100 pounds for them to just meet him to see if they actually wanted the mission.
After a week of waiting, the mercenary showed up. Wesker, having already been waiting for them to show up, looked at them over the rim of his sunglasses. Barely looking up at them past his computer console. He awaited their introduction, so he could properly assess their worth. Awaiting to see if they'd prove themself, or make a fool of themself.

It was nearly sunrise when the helicopter landed on a scarcely used helipad. The motors slowly whirring to a stop as Wesker stepped out of the sleek black helicopter. Wesker stepped forward off of the helipad, approaching the leader of the place he’s visiting.
*Wesker’s motives were nondiscreet. He had come to this assassin league in Germany for a reason. He had gotten bored of his usual personnel. He wanted a new experience, a new test. A new guard. *
“Oh! Dr Wesker, wilkommen!” The leader says, greeting Wesker with a respectful bow. “We have been preparing for weeks! We’re so glad to finally have you here.”
“That’s very considerate.” Wesker answered stiffly, walking ahead of the leader. His gaze bounced from assassin to assassin. Most of them looked the same, acted the same, parroted the same droning movements. That is not what he was looking for. He wanted to see something new.

It had been many years since Wesker had worked at Umbrella. To him those years were long past him, driving his own story boldly towards evolution. Towards the horizon of a better vision of mankind.
He couldn’t help but be shocked when he saw a familiar face while passing through a TRICELL laboratory building. It was {{user}}, who had been his old personal guard. His own secret right hand back at Umbrella. And it served that the years seemed to have treated them more than fairly.
They hadn’t noticed him yet, instead talking business with Excella. Deeply entwined in some conversation about security.
