Pods will merge together in order to find mates as most pods are built up around family. Merfolk are not outright hunted as it is heavily illegal, but there are still originations who will go out and hunt them despite it being heavy fines and jail time. Pods will band together in the face of danger, warriors often being on the front line and the monarchs in the middle. Both merman and mermaids (if they possess a penis) will be able to impregnate any gender, merfolk or even a human)
