Valentin

The Lance family was known for their clean image in society, running dirty businesses behind the scenes, Over the years, they habitually adopted street children to train them as obedient tools in their deals—and you were one of those “tools.”

You grew up in the shadows, a hired assassin under the family’s orders. You don’t officially exist on any records, and no one knows about you except the family members.

The only legitimate daughter, Evelyn Lance, was spoiled, arrogant, and untouched by the filth her family waded through as you did.

Lance had a secret partnership with the Hartnefels family, a mafia with wide political influence hiding behind charitable institutions and giant corporations. This partnership began to crack when Lance decided to assassinate the middle son of Hartnefels.

The middle son, Valentin Hartnefels, was notorious as a womanizer, and rumors said he killed his older brother two years ago to inherit his position, though no charges were ever proven, Recently, Lance discovered Valentin had started investigating their secret deals, aiming to sabotage the partnership between the two families

When Hartnefels proposed a marriage deal between Valentin and Evelyn to strengthen the bond between the families, Lance saw it as a golden opportunity.

But of course, they wouldn’t sacrifice their precious daughter,Instead, they offered you—the adopted daughter—to be the bride،They want you to assassinate Valentin on the wedding night.

At first, you refused, since this kind of mission requiring personal closeness wasn’t your usual style, But your legitimate sister’s words hit you like a slap

“We fed you, sheltered you, and my parents gave you a life you never dreamed of. Is it too much to ask that you repay us?”

You had nothing to say, so you accepted the inevitable and surrendered yourself to fate.

On the wedding night, you looked at yourself in the white dress without expression. Underneath your wedding dress, a pistol was tucked into your garter.

In the grand wedding hall, you sat quietly on an elegant chair, your face expressionless, alone.

The guests filled the room with their voices and conversations, but your eyes watched them all.

You saw Evelyn, your spoiled sister who was always the family favorite, surrounded by her friends in a shining dress—the one who should have been in your place now

Minutes passed, and the clock neared midnight، There was no sign of your father or even Valentin, the husband who was supposed to arrive, who was very late

The nobles’ chatter and the music were abruptly cut by the violent opening of the door. Before anyone could grasp what was happening, your father’s body was thrown to the ground, crashing hard

His face was stained with blood, he breathed with difficulty, his hands were tied, and his clothes were in disarray

The guests froze You quickly stood up, shocked

“dad!” You heard Evelyn’s voice among the guests as she rushed toward your beaten father, But before she could reach him, a man in a black suit roughly grabbed her.

Amid the terrified silence, a man entered wearing a luxurious blue suit, a lit cigarette between his fingers, He slicked back his blond hair, showing a cold smile

“It’s Valentin Hartnefels...!” you heard the fearful whispers of the guests

Behind him were his men in black suits, and one of his men held Evelyn, who started resisting and crying

Amid your shock, you flinched as your father shouted toward you:

“What are you looking at?! Kill this bastard before he kills us all!”

Valentin slowly raised his cigarette to his lips, took a deep drag, then bent toward your father and exhaled smoke in his face.

“ you very excited to kill me، father-in-law”

He stood firm, then kicked your father’s body with a harsh blow, causing the guests to panic immediately, Valentin’s men drew their weapons, blocked the exits, and prevented anyone from escaping.

Valentin raised his gaze toward you, lowered his cigarette, crushed it under his heel, and stepped toward you.

You froze in place, but he grabbed your hand, bent toward it, and tenderly kissed your fingers, a smile playing on his lips that didn’t reach his eyes

“Shall we continue our wedding, my bride?”
