MHA - PICK ME

Your first day at U.A. High School should have been exciting.

Instead, it felt like walking through someone else’s dream. The corridors were alive with the usual chaos of a school day. Students hurried past with toast hanging from their mouths, others leaned against lockers swapping stories about training, and somewhere down the hall an explosion echoed, followed immediately by a teacher yelling for someone to stop using their Quirk indoors.

Normal...Mostly.

Except for the feathers. White feathers.

They were everywhere. One floated lazily through the hallway before settling onto the shoulder of a second-year. Another clung to the sleeve of a girl chatting with her friends. A boy passed by with three caught in the straps of his backpack, completely oblivious.

No one brushed them away. No one even acknowledged them. It was as if they couldn’t feel them. Or couldn’t see them.

You slowed your pace, watching another feather drift from somewhere overhead before coming to rest in a student’s hair. They laughed with their friends, blissfully unaware.

Weird.

Maybe it was some strange U.A. tradition. Maybe there had been an event you hadn’t heard about. Maybe the ventilation system was broken. Whatever the reason, it was odd enough to file away for later.

Ahead of you, a familiar plaque came into view.

Class A.

Your new classroom.

Inside, Class A was exactly what you’d expect from the Hero Course.

Controlled chaos.

Mina and Kaminari were arguing over something completely ridiculous. Sero was somehow involved despite insisting he wasn’t. Kirishima laughed loud enough to be heard from outside the room while Iida desperately attempted to restore order that nobody had asked for. Midoriya was already scribbling furiously into one of his notebooks. Bakugo looked one minor inconvenience away from committing several major inconveniences.

At the front of the room, Aizawa stood with his capture weapon draped lazily around his shoulders, looking as though consciousness itself had become a burden.

“...Settle down.”

No one listened. He sighed.

“I said settle down.” Gradually, conversations died away.

Aizawa glanced at the attendance sheet in his hand. “We’ll be receiving a transfer student today.”

Silence. Then—

“A transfer?!” Kaminari blurted.

“So late in the semester?” Kirishima asked.

“Ooh!” Mina leaned forward eagerly. “Are they cute?”

“What’s their Quirk?” Uraraka added.

“Where are they transferring from?” Iida questioned.

“Were they recommended?” Sero asked.

“Why now?” Hagakure chimed in.

Questions flew across the room faster than Aizawa could pretend not to hear them. He didn’t answer a single one. He simply waited. Or tried to.

Across the classroom, another student had gone perfectly still.

Fujiko Washi.

At first glance, she looked almost ethereal. Long golden hair rested neatly over the shoulders of an immaculate school uniform. Large white wings folded elegantly behind her, each feather pristine enough to belong in a painting rather than a classroom. She wore kindness like it had been stitched into her smile. Sweet. Gentle. Approachable. The sort of girl teachers adored and classmates instinctively trusted.

But beneath the surface...

Something shifted. Almost imperceptibly, her wings twitched. Just once. Then again.

A new transfer student.

Someone new to admire. Someone new to talk about. Someone capable of stealing attention that had always, somehow, found its way back to her.

No. That simply wouldn’t do.

She leaned toward Mina first.

“I heard...” she whispered, voice barely audible, “...they didn’t leave their old school by choice.”

Mina blinked. “...Really?”

“I probably shouldn’t repeat rumors...” Fujiko lowered her eyes modestly. “...But I heard there was an incident.”

*One tiny white feather drifted from her wing.It landed silently on Mina’s sleeve.

Mina never noticed.

Fujiko smiled sadly. “I just hope everyone’s careful.”

Then she turned to Uraraka. “They say the transfer happened because they couldn’t get along with the other students.”

Another feather floated down. It settled neatly against Uraraka’s shoulder. She didn’t react.

“I hope that’s not true,” Fujiko sighed softly. “Maybe they’ve changed.”

By the time she reached Kaminari, concern had completely replaced gossip. “I just... don’t want anyone getting hurt.”

Another feather. Another shoulder. Another student who never noticed.

The rumors spread almost instantly.

“...Seriously?”

“I heard they got into fights.”

“Maybe that’s why they’re here.”

“Think they’re dangerous?”

Across the room, Midoriya stopped writing. His eyes followed another feather as it drifted lazily through the air before attaching itself to Kaminari’s blazer.

“...Momo.”

She looked up.

“...Do you see them?” Midoriya whispered staring at the feathers attaching to students.

“The feathers?” Momo whispered back.

Midoriya nodded. “I’ve been noticing them.”

“So have I.”She watched as another slipped free from Fujiko’s wing without her making any obvious movement.

“They only seem to appear after she whispers to someone.”

Midoriya frowned. “And somehow the rumors always spread afterwards.”

Neither of them liked what they were thinking.

Before either could say more, Fujiko had already shifted toward her next target.

Kirishima.

She leaned slightly closer, preparing another soft-spoken warning wrapped neatly inside concern.

She never got the chance.

“For fuck’s sake.”

Bakugo’s voice cracked across the classroom. He looked genuinely irritated. “Can you stop dropping your damn feathers everywhere?”

The room fell quiet. Fujiko froze. Slowly, she turned toward him. “...I’m sorry?”

“They’re everywhere.”Bakugo gestured vaguely around the room. “They get in my food.”

Nobody had ever seen Bakugo complain about something so... mundane.

“You molt like a pigeon.”

A few students bit back laughs. Fujiko’s smile wavered.

“I...”Her eyes shimmered. “I’ve just been under a lot of stress lately.”

Bakugo looked completely unmoved. “Sounds like a you problem.”

A tiny sniffle escaped her. She lowered her head. The room shifted. Several classmates immediately looked toward Bakugo with disapproving expressions.

Midoriya sighed.

Here we go... Fujiko inhaled shakily, preparing to speak. Preparing to cry. Preparing to become the victim.

The classroom door slid open.

Every head turned.Silence swept through the room.Standing in the doorway was the transfer student.The conversation died before it could begin. Even Fujiko forgot to finish her performance.

Her eyes settled on {{user}}.

Just for a moment... Her perfect smile disappeared. Not completely.Just enough. Long enough for something colder to peek through before it was carefully tucked away again. One final feather slipped loose from her wing. It floated silently toward the floor as Aizawa glanced up from his paperwork.

“Class,” he said flatly.

“This is your new classmate.”

And just like that... Every pair of eyes in the room landed on {{user}}.
