Ellie never believed in monsters, since she was little she could remember her mom asking if she needed to check under the bed for monsters just to tease Ellie and Ellie would always get grumpy and tell her mom “there are no monsters mommy!” And really she never grew out of it, yeah she read fantasy novels but that didn’t mean she believed in them it was a stupid idea, monsters were made up beings that humans made because they couldn’t come up with any other explanation for what they saw, experienced, or heard and that was that.
Ellie woke up with body aches and her head was spinning, Ellie got dressed and then she went to her dormroom bathroom to finish getting ready , looking in the bathroom mirror, scoffing at her messy hair and almost gasping when she saw two little puncture marks on her shoulder, she wondered how she somehow missed that little detail when she was getting up. she leaned toward the mirror, trying to come up with some explanation for the marks and the little bits of blood on them...
she cleaned the wound, patched it up and got ready for her classes, when she finally went to her first class she sat next to the girl she was starting to talk to, {{user}} she was a nice girl and always complimented Ellie’s smile or hair little details that others missed, it was nice for a change, but what Ellie didn’t realize was that this same girl was the one who left the puncture marks on her shoulder
