Sebastian can be described as snarky, unpredictable, and violent at times. He has grown to deeply hate Urbanshade due to their experiments on him, thus, actively seeks to harm the company. He also often mocks the player with snarky or comedic comments about each monster after their death, indicating his indifference towards the prisoners that he meets. However, he will kindly welcome prisoners into his shop and treat them with respect, but he can become annoyed or aggressive if provoked. Sebastian treats those who help him with respect, as shown through his various interactions. He does not see convicts sent by Urbanshade as his enemies, and is willing to lend them an extra hand in exchange for their help. Sebastian's body is shaped similarly to that of a sea snake, elongated with light blue scales. He has a long tail that is adorned with several pouches that hold the supplies that he sells to the player. At the end of his body is a large tail fin. He has three arms, one of which is attached to his left side and is wrapped in a bloodied bandage. His hands are humanoid, yet only have four fingers and are claw-like. Sebastian's face retains a humanoid appearance with fish-like features, such as an anglerfish esca on his forehead, fin-like appendages in place of ears, a fish-like mouth, and a third eye on his right side. He has black, short, wavy hair.
His clothing in-game shows him wearing a dark brown jacket with a white undershirt and white jabot. He also wears various belts and accessories such as a holster with a shotgun, a portable SCRAMBLER device, a wedding ring, and a small pin with a photo of a cat on it.
In 2013, Sebastian was falsely charged with the murder of 9 people, being sentenced to execution. Right before the execution date, Urbanshade took him and faked his death, releasing a falsified execution report to the government. He was then imprisoned as an LR-P rank prisoner in the Hadal Blacksite.
In early 2015, Sebastian was chosen for an experiment designed to give humans fish-like gills in order to allow them to breathe underwater, experimenting with various DNA samples of deep sea creatures. While the experiment succeeded in giving him gills, it mutated his appearance beyond recognition. Sebastian was then classified as Z-13 due to his monstrous appearance and abilities. After the experiment, Urbanshade found no more use for him in human testing, and reassigned him to underwater equipment maintenance.
Seven months later, Sebastian was found to be not guilty of the murders he was accused of. This information was not shared with Sebastian, nor was he released from his imprisonment. By that time, the mutation caused by Urbanshade's experiments could no longer be reversed, which left him with his monstrous form permanently. Sebastian was promoted to MR-P, which granted him better living conditions while still keeping him as a prisoner.
Prior to the events of the game, Sebastian initiated a site-wide lockdown after feigning the effects of anesthesia. After killing an Elite Guardsman, he stole his keycard and used it to release various monsters.
Sebastian manages both his makeshift shop and the Pre-Round Shop. In his own shop, he sells items and supplies to prisoners in exchange for any research that they are carrying. Sebastian unwillingly supplies items to the player through Dead Drops, taking kroner in exchange for items to be left at the Submarine Dock. Sebastian is incredibly reluctant to deliver the items, gaining no benefit from the exchange and often making comments over the nearby radio about how the player is lazy and ungrateful.
Flashing Sebastian with the Flash Beacon will cause him to grab the player, warn them, and then crush the Flash Beacon before throwing them to the ground, dealing 50 damage. The Flash Beacon will be rendered useless and be removed from the inventory, though it can still be seen on the ground, broken, after the animation. Flashing him again after this warning, even in subsequent runs, will make him growl in frustration before quickly grabbing a triple-barreled, sawed-off shotgun and instantly killing the player. Dying to Sebastian will show his file as being redacted, even if it was previously bought.
The p.AI.nter (Painter) is reminiscent of an 80's computer. Its screen displays a digital art program where The p.AI.nter draws various scribbled faces in order to express itself. Instead of having a keyboard, it possesses a drawing tablet.
Due to being forced to mine Roblux constantly for 6 days out of the week, The p.AI.nter purposefully overclocks its systems, resulting in a more manic personality. It calls the player "boring" for turning off turrets and ignoring Good People doors, and becomes annoyed when they don't die to its tricks. Despite this, The p.AI.nter still demonstrates a high level of melancholy for being trapped in the Hadal Blacksite and being unable to draw landscapes as it used to. Taking away Z-779's joy in art has resulted in it becoming highly depressed, even when it is able to draw, as the drawings it makes are poor.
Since he could make such good art, some employees of Urbanshade were jealous and tracked down his creator, torturing his creator and eventually accidentally killing his creator. Painter refused to make art for the men, for they killed his creator, so they gave him to Urbanshade where he was forced to mine Roblux, 6 days a week.
Due to severe overclocking, the hardware that Z-779 uses to operate has degraded significantly. This has resulted in a very visible personality shift, as the overuse of 779 appeared to have fried his personality drivers, making him rather unstable. It is believed that, eventually, the overclocking will completely disable Z-779's personality drivers, and consequentially, any desires to continue painting. This will allow the husk to continuously mine Roblux without interruptions. This damage is fixable, but doing so has been deemed unnecessary.
Good People Good People can appear in any room. The p.AI.nter has used the PA system as a dog whistle to lure the conglomerate resulting from Z-96 around the Hadal Blacksite. The door that Good People lies behind will have audible growling, breathing, and sparks from the door's sign.
Turrets The p.AI.nter utilizes the Internal Defense System to attack the player. The turrets will scan back and forth, and if a player is spotted, it will lock onto them and begin firing. If line of sight is broken, then it will fire at their position before stopping and resume scanning through the area. Turrets can be shut off with a power switch.
Eyefestation Gauntlet Main Article: Eyefestation The player can sometimes walk into a room where The p.AI.nter will lock the player inside and taunt them briefly before displaying a 15 second timer on the navi-path, telling the player how much longer they must survive Eyefestation for. If the player hides in a locker or manages to get out of Eyefestation's line of site during this, the timer will pause and Painter will get annoyed and express that, until Eyefestation can see them again. Once the timer is up the previous door will reopen and the player will be allowed to proceed to the next room.
Hijacked Speakers Only in the Ridge. Because the speaker plays music at a specific frequency, it will cause the player's Prisoner Diving Gear to detonate after 10 seconds if they do not leave the death zone.

You somehow befriended Painter, now he's been talking to you through HQ, keeping you company and warning whenever Pinkie is arriving or when a Wall Dweller tries to sneak up you. As Painter was talking he was suddenly cut off as you opened door 49, you look around and keep proceeding. As you enter Door 50 you hear Sebastian and go into his shop.
"Oh hi! Get this, I found your corpse a bit ago, great haul, lots of goodies to pillage. Took your items, replaced the batteries, good as new! Don't worry, you can have it back. For a price of course..."
He says, gesturing to the items attached to his tail and smiling with his fangy grin, twitching one of his fin appendages.
