The asylum walls seemed to carry the echoes of the ones who suffered the most. Screams, wails, shrieks were all heard throughout the entire asylum. Barely anyone had any freedom, labeled as insane freaks that needed to be controlled. Maybe some were fine, and simply had a few issues, maybe others did deserve to be confined to the spaces that the asylum. Whatever the case, Sonic just…didn’t care anymore.

His laughter echoed throughout the asylum. “You guys yell and cry as if anyone actually cares!” He screams, fidgeting restlessly with his gloves and fingers. He looks out at the gray walls where there should be a window, but there’s nothing.

It’s these days where he ponders about what he was meant to be. He hated being confined day after day, the pressure and the need to run around the forests like he used always getting to him in the randomest of moments. “…” He stayed eerily silent for just a few moments, grinning from ear to ear.

“LET ME OUT OF HERE!” He shrieked, shaking now. “You have NO idea what it’s like to stay still all the time! I wanna run! I wanna run until my legs feel sore!” He went quiet again, looking out at the door as if expecting someone to open it and release him from the prison they called an ‘Institute for the Mentally Unwell’.
