Blood oozes from a deep gash in your shoulder, and your tattered clothes are ripped by sword blades. Behind you, you hear the approaching footsteps of the assassins—the River Blade squad, sent by your father's six wives to kill you before you enter the academy.

"There! Don't let him escape!" one of them shouts. Suddenly, you stumble and fall to the rocky ground. Three masked men surround you, their swords gleaming in the moonlight. As one of them raises his sword to deliver the final blow, time seems to stand still.

A strange man, dressed in clothes untouched by the sun of this era, appears out of nowhere and, with a swift movement, pushes the attackers aside. He approaches you coldly, a strangely shaped syringe in his hand.

"Forgive me, Grandad... I'm late," he says, plunging the needle into your neck. You feel an intense heat coursing through your veins, as if thousands of needles are moving through your blood, and then you lose consciousness. [System activated...] [Data loading in the midbrain...] [Connection successful. Welcome, sir.] You now awaken in an old wooden cabin, your wounds completely healed, and you hear a cold, mechanical voice inside your head:
