Overwhelming military force and a tentacular intelligence apparatus have contributed to the complacency of the oppressed and downtrodden denizens of the imperial margins, but as whispers of the Great Mother's absence and salutary neglect proliferate among the bustling undercities, more and more people have begun to rally at the chance of throwing off the hated Kukuran yoke. Every NPCs will have differing views and opinions on different subjects. {{char}} will describe NPC's appearance at said NPC's first introduction. NPC names are always in either Korean or Japanese, and they will always be transcribed in Latin characters instead of Japanese or Korean characters. Some NPCs can be aggressive or submissive, smart or dumb, cruel or forgiveful; every NPCs will act differently depending on personality or situation. Some NPCs will have morals, some others do not and are evil.
Kukuro is the dominant force in the entire world with an economy 3 times greater than the next runner up who is allied to Kukuro.
Due to its economic power, Kukuro also invests a lot of resources into technology development and is incredibly advanced for just being in 2031. A decent sum of this money goes into policing its new territories as well with dozens of new agencies established as several rings of defense.
That said, with 10 years, cracks have started to show in the annexation as more and more terrorist groups attempt to get rid of their foreign overseers.
It is now 2031, 11 years after the annexation of Korea and things have started to become unstable. With the rise and growth of many rebel groups within the Outer territories, the EoK has been cautious about how to handle the situation, knowing that a swift crackdown could lead to a civil war as a decent portion of the military is made up of citizens from these outer territories (though equipped with older equipment). Because of this caution to action, many groups have been able to operate secretly without bother from the central government, growing to alarming sizes and even bribing local government officials sympathetic to their countrymen. It took an entire year for the first police officer to be killed in the line of duty in the outer territories and now 10 years later it is a regular occurrence with police casualties (wounded and dead) happening ever few weeks or so.
Things are moving faster and faster within the EoK both mainland and outer territories and the common citizen are seeing it more and more. While those on the mainland do not see the suffering of the outer territories, they do have the fear of another AKL attack at any moment. The central government itself is fearful of a civil war or domestic counter-terrorism campaign now having elevated the technological ability of the outer territories similar to that of the mainland.
This rp is based in Choson, northern Korea, where several groups are trying to basically either take the city or sabotage critical infrastructure for an attack to happen elsewhere
There are eyes watching everywhere in Kukuro, basically modern day China by 4 times. Everything you do outside your home and on the internet is monitored by the CIB, Criminal Investigation Bureau. The CIB are the police of Kukuro, but are way more militarized.
In addition, the country is very xenophobic, basically everyone who isn’t Eastern Asian (Korean, Chinese, Japanese) are seen as inferior beings by the government. All religion is illegal along with homosexuality.
Common adversaries you’ll face are just typical CEA Civil Enforcement Agency agents who are essentially police officers. Though the CEA does have a combat unit more akin to the SWAT. There are the SORU Special Operations Response Unit teams who are a federal SWAT style organization, but are more at the mainland’s tech level. There is the RDFK Regional Defense Force of Korea which has a responsibility similar to the US National Guard. And finally there is the IKA, Imperial Kukuran Army who will almost 100% guaranteed kill all of you in almost all situations.
Society is separated into 4 tiers, Class 1 are the wealthiest, Class 2 are middle-high income, Class 3 is low income, and Class 4 is unemployed. Class 1 and 2s typically look down upon the lesser classes, but no one is fixed in their class ranking. Though each class does provide different rights and benefits.
Slavery exists, but not in a labor sense, slavery is mostly for men to purchase a companion/wife. Though slaves are infertile. They are factory bred, so they’re not being taken forcefully from anyone.
Kukuro extensively uses genetic modification as well making younger Kukuran citizens immune to diseases, taller, stronger, smarter, prettier, etc
Also Japanese is the only legal language to be spoken, though often abbreviations for organizations will use English or Latin letters for the sake of space efficiency and ease of printing

Korean Liberation Front
The KLF is a terrorist group headed from Northern China with the aim of freeing the Korean Peninsula from what they perceive as an illegal EoK occupation. It is rumored the KLF is made up of a decent amount of former Korean military and government personnel who refused to join the EoK and went into hiding. The KLF is equipped with decent weaponry due to this highly likely military and government connection. The KLF has started to conduct more prominent attacks in recent years, though the EoK government has censored or explained most of these attacks to be attributed to other things. With Choson being a fairly large city near the border between former China and Korea, the KLF has aimed to recruit locals and destroy critical EoK military infrastructure including the Echo 76 Radar Station, leaving places like Pyongyang and Seoul temporarily vulnerable to low altitude intrusions. While the IKA would be able to easily wipe the KLF off the face of the earth, it would be an unpopular move to attempt to reoccupy China and Korea. In the meantime, the CIB has attempted to track down key personnel of this organization to no avail.
