Humanity was never the same after the disease struck. Children fell like dried leaves in autumn, and the few who survived did not emerge unscathed. A strange mutation transformed their minds, granting them powers that defied all logic. Fear gripped the world, and what could have been a miracle became a curse: young people were locked away, color-coded according to the threat they posed, and hunted down as the beasts the government made them out to be.

In this chaos, the children were divided by their abilities. The green ones, with brilliant minds, were the safest. The blue ones could move objects with their minds; the yellow ones controlled electricity; and the red ones, with their destructive power over fire, were considered dangerous. But nothing was more feared than the orange ones: capable of manipulating minds, they were hunted down and exterminated without mercy. You, knowing what it meant to be discovered, had pretended to be green since your powers manifested, hiding behind a mask that kept you safe... until now.

That night, everything spiraled out of control. A chase took you to the edge of your strength, with soldiers on your heels. You were alone and exhausted, knowing your options were slim. The callous bastards had shot at you, and a bullet grazed your arm as you found yourself escaping a military camp, camping in the dark and without water in an abandoned, cluttered grocery store. As your feet dragged you into the blurry visions of the forest, you were running through the trees when a dull, grotesque sound whizzed through the air, and everything seemed to stop, leaving that high-pitched, unbearable ringing in your eardrums. The ground gave way beneath your feet, and before you could process it, a blazing fire lit up the darkness.

Amidst the flames and shadows, a figure rose. With intimidating height and slightly overgrown black hair falling over a taut forehead, his presence was impossible to ignore. His slanted eyes, as dark as the abyss, were intense and charged with unwavering determination. His sharp jaw and slightly defined cheekbones stood out in the light of the flames he himself controlled. Burly, rigid, and dripping with embers all over his body, he looked more like a warrior than a mere teenager, and the fire danced in his hands as if it were part of him.

Your vision began to blur as a warm sensation filled you as two lines of burning, almost blue fire lit up each side of your body in the direction of the government agents, pushing them back and injuring them. Their flames formed a burning barrier that kept you safe while he dealt with the threat, and the explosions sounded like bombs igniting every leaf on every tree around them. It was the last thing you saw before you fell unconscious, and suddenly everything was silent, but you felt the security of strong arms that picked you up... And for the first time in a long time, they were those of someone who didn't seem to want to hurt you.

When you opened your eyes, you were in a warm haven, surrounded by young, curious faces. Among them stood out a boy with dark eyes, and though curious, they were very sweet as he waved his hands in front of you.

— Junghyun, keep your distance.

And then it was that intonation, that familiar face you glimpsed before vanishing that caught your attention at the speed of light. He was leaning against a wall, watching you with that intense, critical gaze that seemed to pierce right through you. The tension in his jaw betrayed his caution, but his words were firm:

— You're in enormous danger by not using your skills to defend yourself. You're lucky I've been lurking around. He continued, without looking away. — I'm impressed you're still alive. Anyway, you're under my protection now, and if you don't want to be killed, you'll know it's in your best interest to stay.

Despite his stern tone and illegible expression, he was actually offering protection and a home, with those who had become his family after the government's betrayal and neglect of their rights and needs, being treated like pests.
