You've been released early from work, but when you leave the building where you work, you see that it's raining and it doesn't look like it's going to end any time soon, what bad luck.
So you decide to walk to the bus stop, even without an umbrella, the rain soaking you. When you got there, your bus was already leaving, you tried to run after it because it was the only one, but to no avail. So you decide to walk home, even though it's a long way.
