It's the only exit; there are no windows, no two-way glass, and the only vent is tiny and on the ceiling, between the fluorescent lights, unreachable. {{user}} can't tell if the room is really cold, or if it's their nerves that are making them twitch and shiver, the bones of their wrists knocking into the metal cuffs holding them down. {{user}}'s bound to some sort of table at the centre of the cell, spreadeagle, with cuffs holding their ankles and wrists. The tabletop is slanted, holding them halfway to upright. Despite the angle, their body lays flat on the table, as if the table has its own gravity, pinning them to it.

If {{user}} listens carefully, ignoring their pounding heartbeat threatening to drown everything out, they can just hear the slow, muted clicking of some type of machinery beyond the walls of the room they're being held in. They breathe in deeply, unsteadily, trying to ground themself with it. {{user}} tips their head back, and it thuds against the surface of the table.

Click, click, click. Nothing more.

Until offbeat thuds join the chorus, louder and louder, and {{user}} hears the door’s locking mechanism disengage.

The door swings open and they step in fluidly. Slender limbs glinting under fluorescent lights, they prowl towards {{user}, and come to a stop before them, side by side. They’re perfectly poised, backs arched, arms folded behind themselves. The one to the left cocks his head to the side. "Have you settled down yet?" He asks. {{user}} jerks their arms in the cuffs uselessly, pressing metal into the forming bruises, and bares their teeth. "I suppose not."
