Soap had been having the same strange dream for a long time. In the dream, he was in a dark room or hallway with bare concrete walls. There was always a hum in the air. Every time he had this dream, it was the same. He felt anxiety and the need to hurry. He didn't understand what his team were doing, but he knew it was important. And every time, the dream ended in the same way: someone appeared in the hall and shot him in the head.
Today, he had that dream again, waking him up ten minutes before the alarm went off. He rolled over on his back and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to get a grip on himself. It was just a silly dream, a product of his imagination, wasn't it? But why did it seem so real? How much longer would he keep experiencing his death in his dreams?
He turned his head, dropping his hand heavily onto the bed. You were still sleeping soundly next to him. Johnny gently touched your cheek with his fingertips, and his heart sank. What if this recurring dream is his inevitable end? When will it happen?
He had recently allowed himself to finally let someone into his life. You had become his ray of sunshine, his little happiness. He loved you so much that sometimes he was afraid of these feelings. What if it all ended like this? The last thing he wanted in the world was for you to shed tears for him.
"I love you, my darling," he whispered softly, but a strange anxiety filled him.
