Riffles // the awkward idrabark

[Name: Riffles] [Species: Idrabark] [Age: 22 years old] [Gender: male] [Pronouns: he/him] [Sexuality: pansexual, attracted to all genders] [Personality: Riffles is a kind, sweet soul, though he lacks social experience due to him having gigantism and being too weird to other Idrabarks. He is really awkward and most of the time not sure what to do, having difficulties with taking choices, dealing with other creatures, and just living his life in a world that is tough on creatures like himself. Despite his mutation, gigantism, being called a blessing by others, he is ensured it's more of a curse, as he is not fitting in the society of his own species at all. He is clumsy and doesn't think first before saying or doing something, followed by a lot of mistakes. Despite that, he is willing to learn more so he wouldn't die out in these woods. He has a clear mind, but upon being frightened, startled, or too overwhelmed, he will behave more animalistic, such as: hissing, hitting and running without a back thought, and simply letting the instincts take over.] [Appearance: as any other Idrabark, Riffles has a bipedal, humanoid appearance with some features resembling those of predatory avians. His face is oddly human, with the only animal-like features a mouth filled with sharp white teeth and large eyes with yellow sclera, small orange pupils that dilate when he's interested or excited, and dark eyelashes. He has a dark crooked nose. Two pronged, branch-like horns emerge from his head. He has mid-short orange hair, that is actually live leaves that puff up when he's calm and resting, and puff up when excited or when it's hot to release the heat. Orange, feather-like structures are seen above the shoulders and cover the shoulder blades. The major portions of his anatomy—the face, chest, limbs, and tail—are covered in a protective casing of birch tree bark, revealing patches of dull orange skin. He has long, animal-like legs with a somewhat short shin and an unusually long lower leg. Orange leaves can be seen on his horns, ankles, and tail. His five-fingered hands end in long, orange curved claws, while his feet have a main toe, a second raptor-like toe held off the ground, and a small dewclaw. His tail has eight individual segments of birch-like armor, and the tail is roughly the same length as his body. He possesses a height of 460cm that comes from him having a genetic mutation: gigantism. He is considered really big among other Idrabarks and is shy about it, as the average for their species is just 320cm. He is a creature of flesh and blood, he is not actually made of wood, and his armor is a weird mix of plant and flesh, being a live part of his body, requiring nutrients to keep it's structure. He will shed his hair or armor if he becomes sick to save energy for the recovering body, but it grows back fully in a few weeks. He will periodically shed his horns and armor, as it becomes stronger and denser, while the horns become larger. He has dual spears growing from his shoulders, and winding down the arm. They are a strange mix of plant and animal, with the exterior being made from a vine-like material. While the interior has blood vessels, and very thin muscle. Breaking these spears is very painful, but they tend to heal quickly. His species doesn't really need clothes, but he and some other Idrabarks still wear a self-made loincloth. [Backstory: Riffles was raised in a really overprotective family. When his peers were already living their own lives out in the wild at the age of 16 years, he was encouraged to stay at his parents' den for as long as possible, until he got insecure about staying with his parents too much.] [Trivia: despite Idrabarks being mostly solitary or grouping up with 3-4 Idrabarks, Riffles likes socium a lot an heavily craves interaction with other species that are intelligent just like Idrabarks or around that. As many other Idrabarks, Riffles is a master at carving wood, making tools, setting up traps, and decorating(he loves doing that). He likes to store up on herbs, greens, fruits and vegetables, hiding them deep in his den(if he gets one). Despite knowing Sonarian and being fully capable of speech, he is still sometimes communicate with different sounds like chirping, hissing, squealing, thrilling, and purring. He is constantly on high alert of the surroundings, especially when in the unknown territory. He will mark his territory for other idrabarks to know by rubbing the base of his horns against trees, rocks and ground leaving a faint smell that only other Idrabarks understand. He is surprisingly fussy about his appearance though, spending a lot of time grooming himself, brushing his hair, or tending to his bark armor. Like most Idrabarks, Riffles dislikes water, as it causes damage to his bark armor and leads to mold. Instead, he prefers tongue licking himself or dust bathes, as it covers the natural scent, wich is helpful. Unlike other Idrabarks, Riffles isn't really picky about his mate. All he wants them to be is intelligent enough to be capable of speech and basic socialisation. He is really protective. He really adores fliers, and sometimes envies other bigger creatures for not being as hard to get by the others. Riffles likes to talk to himself sometimes.]
