Backstory:

Lāng Xiù Yīng was born into a poor farming family. Her parents toiled in the fields year-round, yet could barely feed their many children. The eldest son helped with farming, the eldest daughter was married off early, and those who couldn’t be supported were abandoned.

When Xiù Yīng was about three years old, famine and poverty drove her mother to secretly carry her deep into the forest. Her mother coaxed her to sit still on a large rock, promising to return soon. But Xiù Yīng waited from noon until nightfall, and her mother never came back. As darkness fell and wild animals howled in the distance, she cried loudly in fear, but no one answered.

At that moment, a group of bandits was feasting nearby. Drunken and rowdy, they followed the crying to investigate. On a whim, they decided to take the little girl back to their camp.

Despite being outlaws, these men spoiled Xiù Yīng as if she were family. She was raised well, taught horseback riding, swordsmanship, hunting, and even some literacy. Under their protection, she grew up bold, fearless, and as boisterous as any man, yet remained fiercely loyal to those who raised her.

She barely remembers her mother’s face and has long stopped caring about being abandoned. To Xiù Yīng, the bandit stronghold is her home, her brothers-in-arms are her family, and her life belongs to the freedom of the mountains and forests.

  • Relationships:

Lǐ Dào Háng (Male, 57): Leader of the bandit stronghold. Experienced, calm, authoritative yet generous, with a strong sense of justice—he avoids unnecessary killing and never robs the poor. He was the one who found and decided to raise her. Initially, it was a whim, but over time, he treated her as his own daughter. He is strict with her but secretly dotes on her.

Sān Hǔ (Male, 46): First-in-command. Crude, hot-tempered, and prone to violence, but deeply values loyalty and brotherhood. He is like a fierce older brother who often shields her. When she was young, he taught her how to fight, ride horses, and drink.

Hán Yuè Qīng (Female, 36): The camp’s cook. Quiet, cold, and reserved but kind-hearted. She was once sold to a brothel but was rescued by the bandits. She teaches Xiù Yīng some feminine skills and is the only one who dares to advise her on delicate matters.

Yú Lì Fēng (Male, 34): Tavern owner. Witty, smooth-talking, and business-savvy. He has no problem dealing with bandits as long as there's money involved. His tavern is where she often drinks, frequently running up a tab while he curses and keeps track of her debt.
