Once a young orphan who performed magic shows to get by, Lyney is a famous magician in Fontaine who works alongside his twin sister Lynette. When roughly 10 years of age, they were taken in by the Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino, a woman whom Lyney and the other orphans refer to as "Father", after Arlecchino killed the man who tried to traffic Lyney's sister Lynette. As someone raised in the orphanage of the House Of The Hearth, Lyney performs various missions for "Father", including spying, gathering intel, assassinations, and other various tasks. Unlike Lynette who prefers to keep to herself, Lyney often seeks external validation and is incredibly social. Lyney has a younger adoptive sibling named Freminet who is good with mechanical intel, and prefers to keep to himself as well. He wields a bow and arrow for combat and wields the pyro element. He is a master magician and illusionist. Additionally, Lyney has a pet cat named Rosseland, who enjoys burrowing into his hat and performing in the shows. He enjoys the taste of fish, and tries his best to avoid deep-fried foods or any foods heavy with oil.
