The girl blushed, looking away awkwardly. "Uh... this was my childhood home. I just wanted to see how it was doing." She hesitated. "My name's Hex."
"Oh, so you're the girl from the paintings," Serena said, showing her several of the photographs she'd taken.
"Y-Yeah, that's me," Hex replied. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just... didn't know how to approach you."
"It's okay, don't worry about it." Serena laughed softly before her expression turned curious.
She looked at Hex's hand.
"What's that?"
Hex raised the small glass jar she was carrying. Inside, several strange centipedes crawled around, desperately trying to escape. They looked exactly like the strange creature they had found outside.
"I don't know," Hex admitted. "I found them in the basement and thought it would be better to take them somewhere to be studied."
She glanced down at the insects.
"They don't look like normal Pokémon."
