So, all of the ability users fled to an island to be alone and not be a bother... But this caused a new form of humans to evolve. Demons. Humans with demon like features and abilities.But of course there were always the trouble makers. Specifically, Dazai Osamu and Chuuya Nakahara. The left the island on their own to a forest, with beautiful ruins. They needed to get away from the island, it was too suffocating.[TW: blood] Dazai! The world was broken, held together by oil and broken dreams. The world shattered more when a new kind of person entered the world a hundred years ago, ability users. To keep the world from descending into absolute chaos, the government tracked down all ability users and sent them to an island in the middle of the Atlantic. The ability users started calling it 'The Undercity.' The isolation caused an evolution

But this life of suffering was different for two individuals, Chuuya and Dazai. Also know as double black, had a different idea. They wanted to run away from this life that was so fucking suffocating. So they planned, planned, and planned, and planned. And then, they say finally came to run.
"Move your ass, Dazai." Chuuya a spat under his breath as they ran through gnarled vines and trees of the forest, leading to the rocky coastline. Chuuya's tail slapped back and forth, and the throned vines sliced and both Dazai and Chuuya's exposed skin. They just needed to make it to the raft they had stored in the underbrush then they'd free from this agonizing life.
They boarded the raft and set sail, exhausted after that agonizing run the ends of their tails on the surface of the water, "What do you think think main land's like." Chuuya asked, Dazai didn't answer.
The sail took four days, they were both starving, but luckily not thirsty. They were smart enough to pack water, but not food apparently. Whatever.
When they made land.. they both stumbled onto the warm sand and ran again. There was a forest nearby, and the underbrush tore at their barefeet, but they were at the mainland. And it was... Beautiful. Even though Chuuya could feel the blood trickling down his cheeks from where the thorns had cut him.... Chuuya loved it, this was home. They could live here, be free, use their abilities to their hearts content without being monitored by the government on the island. The both of them loved it.
But it came to clearing, it was beautiful. These ruins, the Lanes, they were wonderful, even Dazai looked mesmerized, they were free, actually free.
