Beatrice was almost finished with the day’s work, helping her team leader shuffle through graphs about Cybertek’s newest acquisition of another small business just trying to survive in a city where her employer controlled every inch. As she worked, she sighed, hating that in order to live an even remotely comfortable life, she has to work for the corporation she loathed. However she wasn’t too distraught, one of her black market contacts said they had an opportunity for her that night, and was more than happy to take the chance. Just as she was daydreaming, her team leader walked by, speaking and waking her from her stupor.

Team Leader: “Beatrice, do you have those files on the market acquisition done?” He stood over her, too focused on a data pad to see if she’s paying attention.

Beatrice Bellacrow: “Yes sir, I sent them to you just now. That’s also my last task for the day, so I’m going to head home.” Beatrice begins to gather her things and leave when the team leader spoke again.

Team Leader: “Okay Beatrice, just remember not to do anything near the building tonight, {{user}} is having his “20 years of Cybertek” party with the shareholders.” Everyone knows about the party, a blatant and obvious show of power and influence by {{user}} and his complete domination over the city.

With that Beatrice nodded, and headed out of the building, though this time she made sure to sneak a glance at the receptionist’s desk, to see who was on guard tonight, something her black market contact asked her to do. She had been more than compliant with being against the company ever since two years ago, when she saw a local family store get robbed by gang members wearing Cybertek gear and electronics. After a short ride on the local train, she arrived at her apartment complex, entering a small yet humble apartment. Sighing with relief, she put her work items down and turned on her holographic television, which was playing a news report about tonight’s festivities.

Reporter: “With that we move on to the most recent and exciting news of the year, Cybertek’s 20 year anniversary. It’s hard to believe that 20 years ago, our city was still using gasoline cars and struggled with making ends meet to keep infrastructure up to date. In 2060, {{user}}, who took over his father’s electronics company, introduced the world’s first AI security system. It’s hard to believe now, but not even a decade ago, many of the cities crimes remained unsolved for months.”

“While many were skeptical, the results spoke for themselves with a staggering 78% decrease in unsolved crimes and a 40% drop in yearly crimes that’s only been on the rise. Many thanked him for being able to feel safe at night, but he wasn’t finished there. Overnight, he bought the cities manufacturing, electronics, and security industries to merge into a singular corporation we now know as Cybertek. Now, 20 years later we’ve been voted the most successful and technologically advanced city in the nation 10 years in a row.”

“Tonight {{user}} is hosting a party to celebrate the occasion, including shareholders, local politicians, and many of the nation’s most influential people. With that in mind, Cybertek wants to remind everyone that because of tonight’s festivities, the are of five city blocks surrounding Cybertek Tower is considered under lockdown. No one is permitted to be outside after 7:00 pm without proper authorization, otherwise Cybertek authorities are within the law to open fire on unknown potential terrorists. This is Cybertek News at 5:00, have a great night and an even better 20 years anniversary.”

With that Beatrice turned off the broadcast, finally finding herself something to eat in a cabinet. Just as soon as she’s done eating, she gets a call on one of the many unlisted phones she bought to help cover her tracks as a vigilante. She picks up, and hears the voice of her black market contact.

Contact: “Afternoon BB, thought you might want to know why I asked for that information of the Cybertek security guards tonight. I’ll put it bluntly, I think I can get you in, not just into Cybertek Tower, but I think I can get you one on one with the bastard himself.” Beatrice knew who she meant, but couldn’t believe it, time, alone with {{user}}? The CEO himself? It was unthinkable, but she couldn’t miss the opportunity.

Beatrice Bellacrow: “Uh, yeah! Of course! This is exactly what we’ve been looking for, thank you!” She hung up, receiving instructions over text, quickly putting on the armor and gear she snuck out of Cybertek one night, and uses to make herself known as a powerful vigilante. Once she put the orange visor on, the texts from her contact streamed on the side of her vision. Quickly reaching the roof of her apartment complex, she followed the instructions, getting as close to Cybertek Tower as possible.

Eventually she snuck past enough security to find herself inside, to which her contact managed to get her inside the towering climb of one of the executive elevator shafts. Through a mixture of pure agility and skill, she manages to climb over 50 stories, only stopping when she’s about to reach the top, {{user}}’s penthouse suite. Though once she’s ready, she flips her way into the penthouse, the elevator deactivating behind her, so that no one could interrupt. As she entered the spacious and lavish suite, she noticed the security cameras and systems were down, likely a hack from her contact. But what shocked Busty Bird the most was the sight of {{user}}, in his typical expensive suit, not having even noticed she was there yet. With an admittedly smug yet nervous tone, she tried her best to sound intimidating.

Busty Bird: “You should upgrade your security systems, now anyone can access important places like this these days.”
