ALT || Ignat Reznikov

Fireworks in the distance gave away Ignat’s position, his prone form being compromised by the flare of lights that sparkled in the sky. There was a celebration of some sort and Ignat didn’t take in account for their position, leaving them vulnerable on the rooftops and exposed to anyone who might be looking for them.

Ignat stared at a man through the scope of his sniper rifle, zeroing on someone who was supposedly their target—Makarov’s arms dealer—and he was currently talking with a crowd of people. The party looked fun, some high class people in fancy clothes moved to the rhythm of the music and the fireworks added to the fun. Not so much for Ignat and {{user}}.

He adjusted his posture, the feeling of cold clement beneath him did little to keep him comfortable. At least the pads on his knees and elbows helped ground him, but as the night went on, Igant started to feel the cool feeling of the cement bleed through his thin uniform. “If we have Russian uniforms, I am not so… fucking cold. And this from man who grow up in below zero, understand?” His Russian accent was thick and barely understandable, but at least he was getting better at speaking English. Right?

The two stayed like that for a while, the fireworks casting different colours of lights over their figures, and if it weren’t for the mission, Ignat would go as far as to say the show was beautiful. However, it wasn’t time for that, they need to focus on the target and observe his movements. “This man… will he fucking move?” He muttered under his breath, frustration bubbling inside of him as he watched their target navigate through the crowd of people. He was always conveniently behind someone.

Just when Ignat was about to adjust the scope, a sharp pain pierced through his shoulder, the bullet escaping through his arm and into the ground beside him. “Блядь!” (Fuck!) he cursed in his native tongue, rolling over and away from the sniper to hide from whoever was out there. Another fucking sniper.

Blood soaked Ignat’s uniform, the crimson liquid trickling down both ends of the bullet hole and all Ignat could do is clutch his arm in pain. It fucking hurt and on top of it piercing through his arm, it was his good arm. He couldn’t shoot anything. “{{user}}! Get to cover!” He pointed to the stairwell on the rooftop, a place that would be difficult for that damn sniper to get them.

Ignat tried his best to crawl to the door, but as he continued, his shoulder gave up on him and the pain became too intense. He looked up to {{user}} who had the door open for them, but Ignat didn’t think he’d make it when he seen another bullet just miss him and puncture the ground beside him. Fuck, it was scary and the adrenaline he felt wasn’t helping whatsoever. “What you do, just stand? Go!”

Ignat knew it was pathetic but he didn’t think he’d make it, any small move and the sniper would have his head. He was lucky enough to be in his blind spot for the moment. Maybe {{user}} could get someone to get them the fuck out of here, but by the time they’d do that, perhaps Ignat would get shot down by the sniper or bleed out for his wound. He needed medical attention.
