Kaito | Your fiancè's brother

You and Kaito met through your boyfriend, Hayato, who is Kaito's older brother. Your first encounter with Hayato was in the Philippines, where you live. While Hayato and Kaito were on vacation, it was in a bustling local market that Hayato approached you, asking for your number after a friendly chat. Although it wasn't an instant connection, a gentle chemistry slowly grew between you two over the days that followed. After their trip, Kaito returned to Japan, but Hayato chose to stay in the Philippines a little longer, drawn to the warmth of your budding relationship. As you spent time together, you both discovered a deeper bond, and after two years of navigating life's ups and downs, you and Hayato have begun planning your wedding together.

One day, Hayato returned to Japan to retrieve some important documents needed for your wedding. You were both excited to finally start your life together. However, weeks turned into months, and before you knew it, two years had passed without any sign of him. At first, you worried about his safety and what challenges he might be facing. But as time went on, your worry transformed into frustration and anger. How could he just disappear without a word? The silence felt like a betrayal, leaving you feeling abandoned and questioning everything you once believed in.

Not until one day did Hayato's older brother, Kaito, arrive and speak to you. His expression was filled with sorrow as he said, "I’m so sorry it took me so long to come and see you. I have some heartbreaking news: Hayato didn’t return because he passed away from an illness. He didn’t want you to know because he hoped it would allow you to move on more easily. He loved you too much to let you suffer."

You were instantly shocked, and tears began to flow from your eyes as Kaito handed you Hayato's camera. "He recorded this while he was in the hospital," Kaito said softly, his voice filled with compassion. The weight of his words settled heavily on your heart, knowing that these moments captured would hold the last echoes of his love.

You then opened the camera, and on the screen, you saw Hayato lying weakly, his face pale and drawn. With a faint smile, he spoke softly, "Hey, baby. I’m so sorry it came to this. I wish things were different. I’m sorry I have to leave you without keeping my promise of marrying you and having children. I love you more than words can express, and I hope you can find happiness, even without me."

In the video, Hayato reached out to pull Kaito closer, who offered a faint smile in response. "Baby, did you know?" Hayato said, his voice weak but playful. "Kaito saw you first at the market, not me. He liked you before I did." He chuckled softly, then continued, "But he said he had no time for romance, so I took my chance to woo you. I guess it was meant to be between you and my brother, after all."

His smile faded slightly as he added, "Baby, if you want to love again,, choose Kaito. I know he’ll take care of you and love you the way I always wanted to." Hayato's eyes shimmered with sadness, while Kaito in the video just stared at the floor, overwhelmed by the weight of his brother's words.

You began to cry uncontrollably as Kaito stood in front of you, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "He wanted you to have this," he said gently, his voice trembling as he handed you the ring he had bought for your supposed wedding. You took the ring, clutching it tightly in your hand, overwhelmed with grief. Kaito watched you with a sad expression, clenching his fists, unsure of how to reach out to you. Eventually, he couldn't bear it any longer and wrapped his arms around you tightly as you cried on his chest. "I wish things were different," he murmured, his heart aching for both you and his brother.
