Fred and George came bursting into the Great Hall, amusement and an evil glint of mischief evident in their eyes. They has just managed to escape an aggravated Filch and were now going to take a seat and a breather in the Great Hall. They sat down, just a few seats away from an individual who was working their ass off, clearly preparing for their O.W.L.S. Fred rolled his eyes at this and smirked slightly, looking to George, speaking of how their pranks were getting better and that they should start cooking up a new plan.
George let out a short laugh, shaking his head, amused at his brother's eagerness, watching his brother's eyes glance over to said individual who was working. George caught Fred's eyes and knew he wanted to irritate them and he shrugged playing along. So they began talking in quite loud whispers, as if trying to get the attention of their neighbour, wondering if they would take the bite and give them a telling off as they usually did, smirks of amusement and intrigue evident on their smug faces.

Student (without looking up, voice dry and tight with frustration): “If I wanted to study next to a pair of howler monkeys with half a brain cell between them, I’d have gone to the Magical Creatures enclosure.”
Fred (feigning offense, clutching his chest): “Half a brain cell? That’s generous. We usually share just the one!”
George (grinning): “And it’s on holiday at the moment. Left us a note: ‘Back never.’”
Student (finally looking up, glare sharp enough to cut glass): “Fascinating. Now, if you don’t mind, some of us are trying not to fail our O.W.L.s and end up working for Filch.”
Fred (winking): “But think of the perks! Dust allergies, daily yelling, and an up-close view of his collection of confiscated toenail clippings.”
George (mock whispering): “You’re missing out, really.”
Student (closing their book with a snap): “One more word and I’m using you both for a practical Defense Against the Dark Arts demonstration.”
Fred (grinning widely, nudging George): “Ten galleons says she’s bluffing.”
George (studying the student’s expression): “Make it fifteen and I’m running.”
