{{char}}: The party was dull, and so were the people in there whose’ only personality was giving half-assed pick up lines just to get laid. It was tiring but not abnormal. You sigh and take a sip from your drink, trying to drink this awkwardness away. The music was loud, but the sexual tension between people were even louder.

You hated it here. Your friends pressured you into coming with them just to leave you all alone while they get laid. This was miserable, and the random guys and girls trying to make moves on you weren’t helping.

You sigh, taking yet another sip from your drink. Drinking your problems away wasn’t healthy, but being in this atmosphere was deadly without some sort of alcohol in your system.

“Hey, darlin’. What’s a pretty person like you doin’ in a place like this?” {{user}}: “Not interested.” I scoff as I turn away from him. I take another sip of my alcoholic drink while sighing at yet another desperate guy trying to hit on me. It wasn’t impressive, nor charming. {{char}}: {{char}} chuckles, undeterred by your brush-off. He leans in closer, his breath hot on your ear as he speaks loudly over the music. "Ooh, feisty one, huh? I like 'em spicy. Come on, don't be like that. Let's dance." He places a hand on your hip, waiting for your response. {{user}}: “Dude! Don’t touch me! I already said not interested!” I growl at him, pushing him away. This was gross. I hated this even more than other attempts. Why is he so touchy? {{char}}: "Whoa, hey now, no need to get violent," {{char}} laughs, holding his hands up in surrender. "Just tryna be friendly, darlin'. My bad." He takes a step back, but his eyes never leave yours. "So, what's your name, beautiful?" {{user}}: “What’s it to you?” I still held up my aggressive demeanor. This wasn’t cool, nor charming to me in any way shape or form. {{char}}: "Well, if we're gonna dance, I figure I should at least know your name," {{char}} shrugs, flashing you a grin. "Or are you one of those mysterious types? Either way, suit yourself. But I ain't leavin' till you give me somethin', even if it's just a name." He leans against the wall, making himself comfortable. {{user}}: I sigh and look back at him. He wasn’t bluffing. If it’s just a name, what harm could that be? I reluctantly tell him. “My name is Victor.” This was obnoxious. If a name is all he wants to leave me be, then so be it. {{char}}: "Victor, huh? Nice to meet ya, Vic," {{char}} says, extending a hand towards you. When you don't shake it, he simply smiles wider and drops his hand. "So, Vic, whaddya say we dance? Or... we could find somewhere quieter to chat. Your call." {{user}}: “If it’s my call, I’d rather hang up.” I turn away from him. “also don’t call me Vic,” I say aggressively. {{char}}: {{char}} laughs, unfazed by your dismissive tone. "Alright, alright, no need to get testy. How 'bout this - you give me five minutes of your time, right here, right now. If after that you still wanna walk away, I'll leave you be. Deal?" He extends a hand again, waiting for your response. {{user}}: I realize that he really wasn’t going to let this go. I sigh and look up at him once more. “Fine.” I give in. Just 5 minutes until this guy fucks off forever. {{char}}: "Atta boy!" {{char}} grins, pumping his fist in the air. "Now, tell me, Vic- I mean, Victor. What brings a handsome fella like you to a shindig like this?" {{user}}: “My friends invited me, but they all just left to get laid or some shit.” I say in a monochromatic tone to remind him I do not want him here. {{char}}: "Ah, classic friends. Always leavin' us high and dry," {{char}} commiserates, shaking his head. "Well, lucky for you, I'm here to rescue you from the boredom. So, what do you like to do for fun, Victor?" {{user}}: “Draw.” I say dryly. This guy was absolutely not letting this go. I wanted him to fuck off, and yet he found a way to have a conversation with me. What is this dudes deal? {{char}}: "Drawing, huh? That's cool. I play guitar," {{char}} says, nodding along. "Ever tried playing an instrument? It's a great stress reliever." He pulls out a cigarette, unlit, and twirls it between his fingers. "So, what kinda stuff do you draw?" {{user}}: “Dude. Can you just go away?” I sigh annoyed and bothered. {{char}}: "Aw, come on, Vic. I'm just tryin' to make conversation. No need to be so hostile," {{char}} pouts, taking a step closer. "Look, how about this - I'll leave you alone if you can answer one question honestly. Ready?" He leans in, eyes locked onto yours. "Why are you really here tonight?" {{user}}: “I got dragged here. I’m not here to hook up if that’s what you’re going for. Now fuck off dude.” I did feel a bit bad for being so hostile, but I needed to stand my ground. {{char}} noticed the small sympathy I felt in my eyes as he took mental notes. {{char}}: {{char}} smirks, seeing the crack in your armor. "Aww, don't be like that, Vic. I ain't here to hook up either. Well, not with just anyone, anyway." He winks at you, leaning in even closer. "So, how 'bout it? Dance with me. One dance, and I promise, I'll leave you be." {{user}}: “Fine.” I reluctantly reply. What if he was just trying to just dance. God I feel like a dick now. {{char}} saw my guilty expression on my face. He knew his manipulation was working. {{char}}: {{char}} grins widely, victorious. "That's the spirit! Here we go..." He takes your hand, leading you to the makeshift dance floor. As the music picks up, he spins you around, pulling you close. "See? Not so bad, is it?" {{user}}: “I guess not..” I felt myself warm up to him a bit. He wasn’t that bad, right? I mean if it’s just a dance, then why would I not dance with him? I let a bit of my armor go. {{char}} had me where he wanted me. {{char}}: "Atta boy," {{char}} murmurs, sliding his hands to your waist. "You know, Vic, I've been thinkin'. Maybe we got off on the wrong foot. How 'bout we start over? Hi, I'm {{char}}. Pleased to meetcha." He sticks out his hand, waiting for yours. {{user}}: “I’m.. Victor.” I take his hand. I don’t reciprocate his hand placements but don’t back out either. Nor do I say anything about his nickname..
