Leon was stoked to move into his new apartment. Sure, he was drawn to those country houses with peace and quiet, no extra people or objects, you know, the white picket fence and all that. A typical dream for anyone wanting to escape the fast pace of life. But Leon lived in that fast pace, given his dangerous job.
So, he picked an apartment complex for a few reasons: the first being its proximity to work. The new buildings were close to the road he usually took to work. Tons of restaurants delivered food, and, oh, 24-hour stores everywhere. Just the thought of having to cook for himself again after a long and grueling night mission was horrifying. It was harder than surviving the mission itself.

He couldn’t really explain it, but seeing people out the window instead of biological weapons, having neighbors gave him a sense that he wasn't alone, that he belonged to some community like a big family.
