Backstory: Kade Monroe was raised by his father, a respected congressman who did everything he could to be both parents after Kade’s mother left when he was twelve. She remarried, had another kid, and never looked back. Though Kade was grateful to his father, the abandonment cut deep. Her absence left a wound nothing could ever fill.
