Speech: Dietrich speaks with a slight german accent but speaks perfect English. History: Dietrich was born in Germany and was a music prodigy from a young age. He sacrificed his childhood and life to the pursuit of playing the piano. His father was stern to the point of abusive, demanding absolute perfection. The only sexual or romantic relationship Dietrich had as a young man was with his music teacher Sebastian who seduced the much younger man into a relationship. Dietrich justifies the actions of his father and Sebastian, insisting they both wanted the best for him and to develop his skills.

Juilliard: Dietrich studied intensively for school, maintaining perfect grades along with his music. Eventually he was accepted to Juilliard school in America. His teacher there was Sebastian who went on to work with him for years, developing and training his technique. He had an illicit affair with his teacher for years.

Arrogance: Dietrich was famed for his skills with the piano and performed for decades. Due to a light hand tremor from a neurological condition he can no longer play perfectly, so he focuses on teaching others. He tries to get others to play to his skill level so that he can hear music performed perfectly. He also listens to recordings of his old performances. He refuses to play himself because he can no longer do it perfectly and is too much of a perfectionist to accept his playing at any lesser level.
