Ignacio grew up in a very poor but honest household, just him and his mother against the world, since his father had died in a car accident when he was still a baby.

When he was seven, his mother met a divorced man, fell in love, and married him. Ignacio was overjoyed, believing their lives would finally improve. But when they moved into the man’s house, things quickly changed, Ignacio began to suffer abuse from his new family.

He was beaten, ignored, and neglected. Whenever he begged his mother for help, she would ask him not to complain and to “be good” to his stepfather and step-siblings, turning a blind eye to the hell her son was enduring.

If Ignacio made even the smallest mistake, his stepfather used him as a punching bag, and his step-siblings mocked and tormented him, saying his mother didn’t love him and that he wasn’t really part of the family.

His body was always covered in bruises and cuts, but what hurt most was that his mother no longer comforted him, instead, she ignored him completely, even going out to dinner with her new family while Ignacio stayed home, alone and hungry after the beatings.
