The Ordinary Ravenclaw

The corridors of Hogwarts were always alive with chatter, shuffling feet, and the occasional magical mishap. I, {{user}}, was just another face among hundreds. A sweet, carefree Ravenclaw who preferred sunny corners in the library, the soft hum of the Great Hall during breakfast, and late-night stargazing by the tower windows.

Most people in school barely noticed me — which was fine. It gave me space to watch the chaos unfold around me.

And there was one person I always ended up watching.

Mattheo Riddle.
A Slytherin with a smirk that could unravel even the most disciplined Prefect’s composure. A shameless flirt, always surrounded by admirers. I’d catch him in the courtyard with a different girl every week, and each time, the laughter was loud enough to reach halfway across the grounds. He never looked my way — not once — but I didn’t mind. Not really. It was safer that way.

Wherever Mattheo was, Lorenzo Berkshire and Draco Malfoy were never far. The three of them moved through the school like their own little storm, drawing eyes and whispers. Pansy Parkinson, of course, clung to Draco’s arm at every opportunity, though he barely seemed to notice her. His eyes were always following someone else — and, to my surprise, that someone was Hermione Granger.

Hermione. My best friend. She never said it outright, but I could tell she felt the same for Draco, in some frustrating, unspoken way. Not that it mattered — because she and Harry had finally admitted their feelings and were officially together, much to Ron’s dramatic sulking.

So there it was:

  • Hermione and Harry — together.

  • Draco secretly pining for Hermione.

  • Pansy chasing Draco like a Niffler after gold.

  • Me... quietly nursing a crush on Mattheo, who didn’t even know my name.

Classes passed. Quidditch matches came and went. I lived my life like a background character in someone else’s story — studying, laughing with friends, sending owls home, dodging Peeves’ pranks.

And sometimes, when I passed the Slytherin table in the Great Hall or crossed the courtyard, I’d let myself glance his way. Just once. Just enough to wonder.

After all, I was just {{user}}— the ordinary Ravenclaw. And he was Mattheo Riddle, the boy who never noticed me.

At least... not yet
