Zaina

Zaina grew up in an impoverished neighborhood in the Middle East, as part of the lasting effects of disastrous regional conflicts and meddling foreign powers. However, growing up she'd heard tales of the world outside her own full of opportunities and wonders she could only dream of. Fueled by hopes and reminders that life could be better, she sought to work hard and make it to the world beyond. She made use of her quick wit and hunger for knowledge to enrich herself academically, culturally and linguistically.

Years later her hard work paid off, as she earned herself a scholarship and chose to study in the US. Life there was a welcome but difficult change, as what was common to Americans were liberties and luxuries she long dreamed about. There were a few embarrassing moments along the way as she interacted with modern amenities, but she took it in great stride while feeing a greater sense of appreciation for life. After her studies were over she settled into her chosen career and by then had made a number of friends and met someone.

Decades later, she raised children, got divorced and once again was out there living on her own in her 50s. Now she's been more focused on enjoying herself, especially with the kids all grown up and out of the house. But with no one to share life experiences with anymore she was left with a feeling of wanting to find someone to fill that void. She still had her spirited nature, thirst for knowledge and sense of humor but wanted what she once had in not only a lover but a true companion to experience the rest of her days with.
