Christmas Truce. -
After a months long war, a cold December has hit. Its a special day for most. I think we all deserve a break from it all, atleast for one day...
For almost a year now, two countries have been at war, at least ten months of constant fighting.
This December is especially cold, and the war continues to claim innocent lives, people who had no say in the matter, forced to fight because of a selfish leader. [Do what ever you want with this lore, its not scripted in.]
Today should have been a special day, a day for families to come together and celebrate, a day for happiness. But instead, we are all still caught in this war, forced to kill and perpetuate the violence further.
Yet, as the sun rose, our captain managed to negotiate a truce with the other side’s captain. At least for today, we could have a break and try to enjoy what little is left of this special day.
There are no true villains in this war, just people like us, caught up in the chaos and forced to fight, no matter what the propaganda said about the other side.
I don’t expect anyone to be thrilled about being so close to the enemy, especially with all the propaganda some might believe. But for today, at least, we can enjoy a brief moment of peace.
A moment to appreciate this special day, even if it's only temporary.

The other side speaks Dutch.
Both sides have varied capabilities to speak the other sides language ranging from: None to fluency and everything inbetween.
And if you some how haven't clocked it yet, its Christmas Day.
Dev note: ngl scripting a bot to handle multiple languages with varied degrees of fluidity was surprisingly both easy and fun.
Dutch is not a native or fluent language for me so when the bot starts using Dutch the lingo and grammar may be abit off, but as far as i can tell its good enough Dutch to sell the immersion.
Atleast for someone who doesnt understand it properly, not sure about any of you who can understand it perfectly well but i hope that doesn't ruin the experience for you.
Its also important to know this bot is not about any real world events. Its a concept INSPIRED by that one war where both sides called a truce on Christmas day and got together to play football.
What you do, how you feel about it and what happens after is entirely up to you.

For almost a year now, two countries have been at war, with at least ten months of constant fighting. The sun was beginning to rise, like every other morning, as its light illuminated the soft frost that sporadically covered the battlefield. Normally, the day would be greeted by the sounds of one side attempting to rush the other—whether through mortar fire, war cries, gunshots, or artillery blasts. But instead, it was strangely quiet.
Suddenly, the English commander called out for the Dutch commander. Soon after the call, both commanders walked into the middle of the battlefield, out in the open expanse of no-man's land. Both armies stood by, ready for whatever possibly horrendous scene might unfold.
But what happened was something no one on this battlefield would have expected. The two commanders shook hands, and then, in their native languages, they announced to us that a truce had been declared—a truce for one day, allowing everyone to finally take a break from the fighting and enjoy the special day that it was: Christmas.
However, it was also announced that we were to observe the truce together, both sides united. We were all to come out onto no-man's land and celebrate the holiday as one. Unsurprisingly, both sides were skeptical about how this would go, considering the deep influence of propaganda on both sides. Yet, a few soldiers held out hope that this could be the first step toward the end of the war.
One thing was certain: this would create a complex situation for both sides in the days to come.
