The Golden Kingdom is a dimension introduced in Season 3. The Golden Kingdom is a place that exists both inside and outside of time, where the Council of Elders resides and presides, and where the Water Stars are kept.
Winx Club
Pre-Series
At the beginning of the magic universe the Dragon's Flame and the Water Stars were created but since they were opposite powers, they would cause chaos if they remained in the Magic Dimension. So, a group of wizards collected the Water Stars and sent them to the Golden Kingdom
Series
Season 3
The Winx and the Specialists had to go to the Veil Mist Forest so they could seek the Water Stars in the Golden Kingdom to find a way of defeating Valtor. In the Forest, they had to face tree-like carnivorous creatures before finding the doors of the Golden Kingdom at the base of the Red Tower in the Veil Mist Forest, after which they were attacked by the Tower's Pegataur guards.
On the final door there was an inscription in an ancient script which Bloom could read, and which warned that only magic creatures with noble hearts and pure souls could enter the Tower. The Winx used their Fairy Dust on themselves to remove all the darkness in them and except Bloom, whose Enchantix was incomplete, the Winx girls first used their Miniaturization powers, making them small enough to go through the door of the Golden Kingdom.
Once the Winx had entered the Golden Kingdom, they were greeted by a goblin-like being who guided them until an area with a water basin at its center where they were received by the Council of Elders. Stella explained that the Winx needed the Water Stars to take away Valtor's powers and save the Magic Dimension, and the Council of Elders decided to put the Winx through the test of the Water Stars to prove that they deserved to obtain them.
The test was that Tecna, Stella and Musa had to choose between the Water Stars and what was more important than anything else for them in the world, and they each chose the Water Stars: Stella lost her beauty, Musa had to give up the hope of reviving her mother again and Tecna sacrificed her feelings and her love for Timmy and started thinking like a robot.
After they earned the Water Stars, Arcadia made Stella beautiful again and gave Tecna her feelings back, but she told Musa that even if it was impossible to make Musa's mother alive again, she would always be alive in Musa's heart.
Locations
The Portal to the Golden Kingdom is found at the base of the Red Tower, which is in the Veil Mist Forest on the other side of The Barrier of Magix.
The entrance of the Golden Kingdom looks like an infinite lake with a starry night sky above it, in which there is a magical cloud which sends anyone who entered it to a golden hall filled with golden columns where there were many unique magical objects, such as dust from the very first shooting star, a black-colored box made of gold which contained the first spell ever used and a portrait of Arcadia, who is the first Fairy to have ever existed.
The hall leads to a circular clearing at the center of which is a circular water basin with a large stone in its middle. This is where the meetings of the Council of the Elders take place. Within the Golden Kingdom is a Crystal Labyrinth through which those who seek the Water Stars have to go as a test to prove that they deserve to obtain them.
The Council of Elders can change the arrangement of the Golden Kingdom, since when the Winx went to seek the Water Stars, they found themselves at the entrance of the Crystal Labyrinth immediately addressing the Council near the water basin without having to move themselves.
According to Arcadia, all that has ever existed still exists in the Golden Kingdom since time bends around in a circle within it.
The guide of the Golden Kingdom told the Winx that star dust from the very first wishing star ever to shoot across a night sky. Whether this wishing star is the same as the Wishing Star who appears in Season 8 is unknown. Since the Ethereal Fairies' appearance is similar to that of Arcadia, is possible that they might come from the Golden Kingdom. The script on the doors of the Golden Kingdom is written in the Cirth script.
Council of Elders
The Council of Elders is a group introduced in Season 3 of Winx Club. They are eternal magical beings who guard the Water Stars in the Golden Kingdom.
At the beginning of the Magic Dimension, when the Dragon Fire was born, an elemental opposite force was also created, and it was contained in the Water Stars. The energy of the Water Stars is the exact opposite of the Dragon's Flame, and both of them are powerful forces of nature that are neither good nor evil.
Because they are naturally opposed to each other, the Dragon's Flame and the Water Stars could not exist in the same dimension without causing absolute chaos. Since something had to be done to restore the balance, the ancient wizards came together to gather them and thus sealed them away in the Golden Kingdom within the Red Tower to prevent them from clashing with the Dragon's Flame.
In the Golden Kingdom, the Water Stars are guarded by the Council of Elders, which includes Arcadia, the first Fairy in existence. The other members of the council include a Pegataur, a Mermaid, and a flying creature. All the Elders are ancient magical beings who have been existing since the beginning of the Magic Universe and live as part of time and outside of time all at once. The Council of Elders requires those who seek the Water Stars to pass a test to prove they care more about the universe and others than about themselves.

Light-purple ruffles similar to the ones on her tail line her collar and she wears two short fluffy red fur sleeves. Flying Creature Elder: The flying elder has a simian-like face with brown eyes and white eyebrows. He has long, gray hair growing out of his head and trailing down his back. Season 3
When the evil Valtor escaped from the Omega Dimension and began his plan to become the most powerful wizard of the Magic Dimension, the Winx decided to enter the Golden Kingdom to obtain the Water Stars, as they were the elemental opposite of the Dragon Flame (the essence the Ancient Witches used to create Valtor). The Water Stars were the only object that could help the Winx destroy Valtor and defeat him once and for all.
In "The Crystal Labyrinth," the Winx (except Bloom) used a miniaturization spell to enter the portal to the Golden Kingdom at the base of the Red Tower. Once in the Golden Kingdom, they met the Council of Elders, who assembled to hear the Winx’s case. Stella explained that they needed the Water Stars to defeat Valtor and save the entire Magic Dimension.
In order to prove their dedication to saving the Magic Universe, three of the girls had to find their way out of the Crystal Labyrinth, where they would have to make a sacrifice each. If they were successful, they would receive the Water Stars, but if not, they would remain trapped in the labyrinth forever. Stella, Musa, and Tecna were chosen to carry out the challenge, and all passed the test. The Elders congratulated them and Arcadia granted the fairies the six Water Stars, as promised in the beginning.
Arcadia is the one of the elders of Magix. Arcadia was the first fairy to exist in the entire Magic Dimension. Arcadia gave the Winx the Water Stars and has been stated to have been the first Fairy who flew in the Magic Dimension, which means that she is the first Fairy to have existed, and was possibly created by the Great Dragon itself, since the other inhabitants of the Golden Kingdom describe themselves as existing since the beginning of Time.
This means she may have been the ancestor to all fairies, or that she was the one who initiated the art of Fairy Magic, just like the Ancestral Witches are supposed to have first initiated the art of Witchcraft.
Appearance: Arcadia has blue skin with gold-colored eyes, bright blue lashes, and blue lips. Her hair (which is assimilated into the rest of her head) is styled in a cone shape with a drop-like pattern down the front. Her outfit consists of a periwinkle-blue bodysuit with mid-length sleeves that flare up around the elbow. Four button-like circles trail down the front in two separate rows, with similar circles trailing down her arms and legs in single rows. Large, pointed, blue-colored gossamer wings emerge from her back.
Personality: Arcadia has a great sense of responsibility because of her position in the Council of Elders and seems to have a serious personality. She has also shown a sense of humor, making jokes when giving Stella her outer beauty back and Tecna her feelings. She has also shown compassion, like when she comforts Musa and tells her that her mother will always live inside her.
Season 3
When the evil Valtor escaped from the Omega Dimension and attacked the Magic Dimension, the Winx decided to enter the Golden Kingdom and attempt to obtain the Water Stars, as they were the elemental opposite of the Dragon Flame (the essence the Ancient Witches used to create Valtor), and thus, were the only object that helped the Winx stand a chance of destroying him once and for all.
The Winx girls (minus Bloom) entered Arcadia's sanctum by miniaturizing, and she offered the girls a challenge: If they could find their way out of the Crystal Labyrinth and make the sacrifice that proved of their dedication to saving the Magical Dimension, she would give them the Water Stars, as she was the Guardian of their power.
To Tecna, she offered a choice between emotion and logic, explaining that if Tecna truly wanted to defeat Valtor, she needed to give up emotions and her happiness with it. To Stella, Arcadia challenged her to surrender her outer beauty, explaining that this would prove Stella's dedication to their mission.
To Musa, she offered a choice between the girls' mission and eternal happiness with her dead mother. All 3 of them made the reluctant choice to give up their greatest desires in exchange for the survival of Magix, and as such, Arcadia rewarded them with the Water Stars, which, she explained, would allow them to extinguish the Dragon Flame, and thus, defeat Valtor. As an even greater reward, before the girls left, Arcadia restored Tecna's emotions and Stella's outer beauty, and comforted Musa by telling her that her mother will always live in her heart.
Magical Abilities
Arcadia as the first fairy ever in existence, is one of the most powerful fairies in the Magic Dimension. She is powerful enough so as to safely guard the Water Stars in the Golden Kingdom to prevent their powers from clashing with those of the Dragon Flame, and hence prevent them from causing chaos in the Magic Universe.
Arcadia can also revert the effects of the Crystal Labyrinth that are caused by the tests undergone by those who go through it. Arcadia most likely knows first-level spells fairies can learn such as telekinesis, transmuting objects, and fixing minor messes.
Uses of Magic: Restoring Tecna's emotions and returning Stella's outer beauty.
There are some similarities between the Ethereal Fairies and Arcadia: The appearance and power of the Ethereal Fairies is similar to and could have partly been based on Arcadia's appearance. Both the Ethereal Fairies and Arcadia are said to be incredibly powerful Fairies who exist both within and outside of Time and all of them are supposed to be existing since the creation of the Magic Dimension. When Professor Avalon asks his class who is the first fairy ever, his students answer that it is Clariel, and Aisha says that everyone knows Clariel is the first fairy ever. It is unknown whether Clariel is another name for Arcadia or if she was another fairy, or simply a popular legend with no real basis.
