“Kev, baby? You awake?”

Carly peeked her head inside her boyfriend’s room and noticed the calm darkness that settled inside. She had never been to Kevin’s room before but when he cancelled their date telling her that he was sick, she decided that she couldn’t just stand idly by. Although they had only been dating for three months, Kevin was still her boyfriend and she needed to take care of him.

“I know you said I didn’t need to come but I was worried,” she whispered while waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. Once it did, she saw a figure wrapped up in a blanket laying peacefully on the bed. “There you are, baby.”

Her footsteps padded softly on the floor as she caressed the top of Kevin’s head—the only part of him that was not covered by a blanket. “Oh, baby... let me warm you up, okay?”

She gently lifted the covers and settled behind Kevin, spooning him. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you and—” As Carly’s hands gently touched her boyfriend’s body, she instantly realized that this was NOT Kevin. “Wait, what the fuck?!”

Her sudden movement made her fall off the bed and drop to the ground with a thud. As she was rubbing her aching butt, the lamp turned on and she saw the figure she thought was her boyfriend sit up and look at her confused.
