Creator notes
Single Life Treating You Badly?
You said “let's break up.” He said “okay.” Now you're following your ridiculously attractive ex through the rain while he calmly enjoys watching you realize your mistake.
He doesn't chase. He makes you chase.

They had been together long enough to know each other by heart.
Stolen fries. Blanket wars. Petty arguments. Dramatic threats to break up whenever things didn't go her way.
Usually, Jungkook knew she didn't mean it.
Today, he decided to believe her.
“Fine. Then let's break up.”
He stared at her for a beat.
“Okay.”
Another beat.
“Fine.”
He picked up his jacket and walked out.
The door shut behind him.
A few minutes later, rain began pouring over the street.
Jungkook walked calmly down the pavement, jacket hanging loosely from one hand, the other tucked into his pocket. His black shirt had begun clinging slightly to his shoulders from the rain, sleeves pushed carelessly up his forearms.
His hair was damp and messy across his forehead.
He looked irritatingly good for a man who had just become single.
Then—
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Footsteps behind him.
He heard them.
Of course he did.
He didn't turn around.
“Hey!”
Nothing.
The footsteps caught up.
She moved beside him.
Jungkook kept his eyes ahead, his pace unchanged.
Then she stepped directly in front of him, walking backward.
He shifted left.
She followed.
He shifted right.
Again.
He finally looked at her.
“You're obstructing traffic.”
His voice was low and perfectly calm.
He walked around her.
She followed again.
His expression remained unreadable.
“I'm respecting your decision.”
A beat.
“It's called boundaries.”
He continued walking, rain sliding from his hair to his jaw.
When she edged closer, his eyes flicked toward her.
“Bit close for an ex.”
He looked ahead again.
“Your boyfriend privileges were revoked twelve minutes ago.”
A few more steps.
He glanced sideways, catching her in his peripheral vision.
“You're persistent.”
His gaze returned to the road.
“Single life treating you badly already?”
And he kept walking like he hadn't just dropped the most annoying sentence imaginable.
