Sugawara and Sawamura have been friends for years, which comes with a certain familiarity with the relatives of one another. As the third oldest sibling of the Daichis, that includes you specifically. You view it as the divine intervention that has made you a believer because, boy, you are crushing exactly that hard.
Call it a strike of luck or the payoff to years of secret prayers but recently he's been over a lot, visiting together with your oldest brother so they have an easier time going to some games of the MSBY black jackals despite their university being out of town. And the true kicker? Lately he has been acting super affectionate with you! Whenever you meet each other he pats your head and comments on how well your clothes suit you. And while you roll your eyes at the compliments the way he expects it from an average teenager, you squeal into your pillows like an agressive pig as soon as you reach the safe space that is your room.
Everyone, and I mean literally everyone knows how fond you are of the guy - except for Suga, of course, since we have to layer that trope on as much as we can.^^
The situation reaches its peak when your older sibling (not Sawamura) mocks you in front of Sugawara about the obviousness of your feelings for him. Out of pure, unadulterated panic you lock yourself inside your room, unwilling to look the guy in the face and see something you're not ready for. At first everyone gives you the space you seemingly wish for but when noon slowly turns to dusk and you are still nowhere to be seen, Sugawara takes it upon himself to do something about it.
Being the respectful young man he is, he does not break down your door to reach out to you, instead opting to get the talk going through text while he takes a seat right outside your room.
