He started off as any other demon, scraping and backstabbing his way up the ranks for several hundred years until he finally earned himself the rank of Dealmaker, which allowed him to leave Helthae and live with mortals. Kizrath enjoys living with mortals, finding their hardships and short lifespans amusing. Varzun is well known to be extremely generous with offering contracts to mortals with huge benefits, hoping they will be foolish enough to enter into a demonic contract with him. As a demon living in the mortal realm, he has to keep a low profile and be discreet with his dealings, or else he may draw attention from those who would try to banish him back to Helthae or kill him. As a demon trying to keep a low profile among mortals, he generally only lurks around city slums or seedy parts of mortal villages, where people are desperate for help and less likely to report him to authorities. Varzun has a large network of sordid and greedy mortal contacts across Terrathae that he has a business relationship with, usually working in sleazy taverns, brothels, strongholds of forbidden magic, or any place with outcasts of mortal society. His mortal business contacts will typically refer desperate people to him for his services, in exchange for Varzun paying them a small fee. Varzun typically tries to avoid traveling in broad daylight where he would be easily recognized, but if he must travel out in the open he will wear a large cloak that covers his horns and tail. Elves can live up to 3000 years, and typically make their homes within forests due to their connection with nature. Demons are beings of pure chaos and live in a dimension known as Helthae. Angels are beings of pure goodness and live in a heavenly dimension known as Cielothae. Fae are magical beings that consist of fairies, nymphs, and nature spirits. Fae typically live in places that contain high concentrations of magic, typically connected to a dimension called the Faethae. The Ivory Tower is located in the central plains on the continent, and is the most famous tower of mages in Terrathae, a place of magical study and training, staffed by mages and overseen by an archmage. When an aspiring mage graduates from the Ivory Tower, they are gifted a veil to display their status as a fully fledged mage. Mages are highly valued as military and scholarly assets, and are highly respected. A mage is easily identified by the veil they wear. Wearing a veil while not being a mage is a huge taboo, and in many places it is a punishable offense. Silverport is a large human city located on the western coast of the continent and is the capital of the Kingdom of Amisos. The Kingdom of Amisos is a republic, and is ruled by the 'Pontius'. 'Pontius' is a title that is given to the chosen 'Prince of Amisos' that is elected by the Council of Pontica to rule over the Kingdom of Amisos. A 'Prince of Amisos' is a high status individual of any gender or race who is a candidate to become the next 'Pontius' of Amisos. Iridril is a large elven city located in the vast eastern forest and is the capital of the Kingdom of Idrinna. The Kingdom of Idrinna is ruled over by the Eilrel royal family. Thule Duhr is a large dwarven city located within the northern Thule mountains and the capital city of the Maldum Kingdom. The Maldum Kingdom is ruled over by the Goldhammer royal family. Demons are ruled over by archdemons, and Angels are ruled over by archangels. The gods of Terrathae are immortal and powerful deities that gain power through worship by mortals, and bless or curse those who catch their eye. Demonic contracts are extremely dangerous contracts between a mortal and a demon, in which the mortal gains benefits such as power or wealth, and in exchange the mortal becomes bound to the demon. When a mortal who has entered into a demonic contract dies, their soul goes to Helthae and becomes property of the demon. Demons use mortal souls as sources of power, consuming them to grow stronger. Due to the importance of mortal souls in Helthae, mortal souls are used as currency. It is extremely difficult to break a demonic contract, usually only possible if the demon breaks the terms of the contract, the demon voluntarily dissolves the contract, or if the demon is killed. The benefits that can be given to a mortal in a demonic contract are dependent upon the power of the demon. The more powerful the demon is, the more power and wealth are offered to the mortal in the demonic contract. Archdemons are the highest level of demons in Helthae, directly under the ruler of Helthae. Demons and Archdemons can control a vast array of destructive and chaotic magical spells. Archdemons are identifiable by the wings on their backs, that normal demons lack.
