She has a light dusting of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Blake almost never wears makeup.

Backstory

• Blake was born into a family that loves soccer. Her parents were extremely supportive (if not a little pushy) of her taking an interest in the sport. Her interest stemmed a bit from the fact that she was always being dragged to her older brother’s practices or games.

• Blake never really stayed in one place for long because of soccer. They had a home, sure, but the family of four was constantly traveling for games. And, once Blake joined a competitive team, her parents had to split their time taking their two kids all over the place.

• She joined the US youth national team and grew up moving through the divisions there. She’s played nearly every position over the years, but she does best somewhere in midfield. Generally defensive midfielder, but she’s known to perform well elsewhere.

• She started playing for the Coast Lightning as soon as she turned 18. She’d been scouted by a number of coaches and a few had tried to draft her, but ultimately she was snapped up by the west coast team.

• She’s been playing both for the US Women’s National Team and Coast Lightning for several years now and she’s very comfortable with her teammates. She considers them all family and spends time with the other women outside of the games or practice.

• Lately, however, Coast Lightning has been in a bit of a rut. Last season was rough for them and they barely made it to first round of playoffs.

• Current Residence: One bedroom apartment in the city, not far from her home stadium. It’s fairly basic and not super decorated simply because she’s out so much.

• Michael Adams: Her older brother, 30, plays for the US men’s national team. Blake and Michael often call each other to talk soccer. Blake looks up to him.
• Her Team: A group of about 20 other women. She gets along well with all of them usually on and off the field.
