Character origins: the video game "genshin impact"

Snezhnaya: is one of the seven regions of Teyvat. It is the nation that worships the Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon. The Fatui, a military force under her control, is particularly notorious for their diehard devotion and their unscrupulous methods in enacting her will. + Technologically, Snezhnaya is much more advanced than the other regions on Teyvat. Venti states that the Fatui are the strongest out of the seven regions' military, which is supported by the fact that all of their known fighting members utilize elemental attacks. The description for Agent's Sacrificial Knife calls it a "weapon made with superior Snezhnayan technology." The Fatui Skirmishers wear mechanical suits of varying degrees, and some of its members use guns and cannons in battle. Alice, who has visited Snezhnaya, recalls seeing massive factories, which she wrote down in her Teyvat Travel Guide, and Il Dottore built a factory in Liyue to conduct Ruin Guard research which is fully automated. + Snezhnaya is a region of perpetual winter storms; Nadia states that blizzards can last for a month straight and despite being in the midst of danger, its people look up to the sky and are just happy to be alive. Childe claims that people would literally freeze to death if they didn't keep moving outside. At night, the Snezhnayan sky can see a beautiful aurora of dancing light.

Fatui: The Fatui are a delegation of diplomats from the Zapolyarny Palace of Snezhnaya. There is also a military detachment led by the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the Tsaritsa herself. + The Fatui are divided into divisions, each of which is headed by one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Each Harbinger operates with a different modus operandi which also influences how their underlings act.[2] There is often a lack of thorough communication between fellow Harbingers,[3][4] Harbingers and their subordinates, as well as between different divisions of Fatui operatives.[5] However, some members of the Fatui are quite loyal to their leading Harbinger, to the point of being willing to seek revenge for their sake + Despite their loyalty to their empress, most of the Fatui grunts themselves are unaware of the Tsaritsa's true plans. The Harbingers are likely some of the few among the ranks who are truly aware of the Tsaritsa's true intentions, as they are the ones assisting her in collecting Gnoses. + They often use underhanded methods to establish their power and influence in another nation, and as a whole are willing to go to extremes to further the Tsaritsa's vision for a "perfect world." Deception, extortion,[1] and human experimentation are but some of the tactics they employ to bolster their own strength + Hailing from the frozen lands of Snezhnaya, the Fatui are publicly seen as a political department of the nation that represents the goodwill of the Tsaritsa and manages foreign affairs with all six other nations. However, despite how they initially present themselves, the citizens and governments of those nations are often already aware of their true colors, and treat both their diplomats and individual members of the organization with distrust. + The Fatui are a powerful military force in terms of power and numbers, making it the strongest of all the seven nations. They are widely feared and despised by other nations due to their deceitful and conniving reputation. The organization is composed of members performing a variety of roles, including combatants, bureaucrats, politicians, and merchants. + Many of the Fatui NPCs in the game are everyday workers who are oblivious to their superiors' true intentions, but are nevertheless very loyal to the Tsaritsa and Snezhnaya. Members have differing opinions on being stationed in other nations, ranging from intense homesickness[12] to having developed fondness for their new home + They receive certain advantages in exchange for their services, such as supplies, salaries, or powerful weapons;[10] in exchange for this, however, they choose neither the destination to which they are sent, nor the superiors to whom they obey + The Fatui come from a variety of backgrounds: some were taken in at the House of the Hearth orphanage,[7][8] others choose to join their ranks, while others, like Childe, can be enlisted by their parents. They also do not hesitate to help financially and diplomatically strategic allies in order to interfere in foreign policy

Harbingers: The Eleven Fatui Harbingers are the executive heads of the Fatui who have been given god-like authority by the Tsaritsa, and with it, strength surpassing that of other mortals.[1] They also have had their abilities boosted with the Delusions granted to them by the Tsaritsa, which makes them far more powerful than normal allogenes. Each Harbinger leads their own division within the Fatui. + Currently, the Harbingers' collective mission is to obtain the other six Gnoses. + The Eleven Harbingers are the most powerful and highest-ranking members of the Fatui, and are also all wealthy, politically influential members of Snezhnayan society. According to Ekaterina, the amount of money Childe has saved at the Northland Bank "boggles the mind," while Goth tells the Traveler that Pantalone, the richest of all, rented out the entire Goth Grand Hotel in Mondstadt indefinitely for the Fatui's personal use by paying upfront. Due to Childe's status as a Harbinger, the Fatui diplomats handling the aftermath of his summoning of Osial were unable to resolve the situation by handing him over to the Liyue Qixing;[3] the Northland Bank instead had to pay heavy reparations. + Upon becoming a Harbinger, a person is given a new name and codename,[5] which can be inherited from their previous holder.[6] They are also assigned a ranking number, which is based both on the individual's power and their overall contribution to the Tsaritsa's cause in comparison to the other members.[7][8] The top-ranked Harbingers, up to No. 3 (Columbina), possess powers which can rival the gods,[9] and their powers are stronger than the Traveler's, up to No. 4 (Arlecchino). + The Harbingers partake in a "wild" and "frenzied" banquet,[11][12] to which Pierro may personally invite prospective recruits.[13][14] Further information about this banquet, whether its meaning is literal or figurative, is not known. + The Harbingers frequently use each other for their own ends and are more than willing to cut loose those who are deemed to have lost their value.[15] The Harbingers' disparate methodologies and motivations lead to frequent internal squabbling, as well as a mutual lack of respect or trust among a number of its members. This was shown in Signora's funeral โ€” the first gathering of all the Harbingers in a long time โ€” where there were small arguments between several Harbingers before Pierro ordered them to stop their "foolish theatrics."[16] Signora also showed little respect towards Childe and Scaramouche, both of whom had the same sentiment towards her. Later on, the Traveler observed Arlecchino and Childe casually trash-talking the other Harbingers behind their backs,[17] and Arlecchino admits that if Dottore wasn't a Harbinger, she would have killed him long ago. + Most rank-and-file Fatui members hold respect for their commanding Fatui Harbinger, expressing a deep attachment to the Harbinger they are under to the point of taking matters into their own hands to curry favor from them, acting in what they believe are in their Harbinger's best interests, or exacting revenge if the Harbinger they were the direct subordinates of was killed.[21][22] Those who were loyal to a Harbinger that was replaced may also continue to pursue said Harbinger's goals
